It's not only recommended but insisted that you backup nv items before you start flashing rom.... Should be the first thing you do after rooting....

Installation Instructions

1. Download Rom, Metro fix Zip and Kernel and move to sd card

2. Wipe System, Davlik Cache, Cache and Factory Reset....

3. Install Rom, Metro Fix Zip and Kernel at the same time before booting phone and in that order

4. Reboot and Enjoy..

Had some fc playing with mobile settings and a reboot playing with the pimp my rom app but other than that very nice. With all the features built in I don't even need romtoolbox pro anymore.

Edit: picture and split mms confirmed to be working. Looks like a keeper.

Yes. Just flash edgees metrofy zip. It does all the file replacing for you.

First I want to make very clear that I am really enjoying this ROM, if I could ask one question. When I receive a text it shows the unread count on the icon, once I open and read the text then go back out it still shows there is an unread text. Is this an easy fix or just the way it is?

Again minor issue...this ROM is badass!!

Also if u go into updater theirs all kinds of themes and stuff u can change

This rom has everything I've been looking for and more. This is my official rom for now, can't wait to see what top this got me even using stock launcher you can customize pretty much everything

OK I downloaded all three, installed the rom, then installed the kernel then the metro port ZIP, I have three concerns one I get the tethering saying Sprint Tehering etc, then I also get on the model that I have instead of a SCH-R530M it says I have an SPH-L710 which is Sprints model and last when you swipe down to see the toogles instead of saying MEtro Pcs it says mijjz Romz, airtioteclint how did you get it to say the correct model ???

This is a work in progress... I have a bunch of edits to do... this is zip was intended to have working mms and 4g on boot .. now I'll be working on the cosmetics gettin rid of all the sprint stuff and have it say MetroPCS

No need bro ... I made this for myself and just wanted to share... I am no dev wish I was but I have a lot to learn... I simply figured out a way by trial and error to make it work... Id rather leave all the thanks to all devs that put in the real work... I spent a couple of days on this and man oh man do I appreciate devs even more... so I appreciate the thanks and I will try my best to lean it up and make it better... but please leave 99.9% to the devs that build the roms I'll take half of what's left ....

edgeez25...thank you so much, this ROM is really nice. I love all it has to offer. Outside of the minor issue I mentioned in an earlier post( and again I'm not really complaining) the only thing I wish was better was battery life. I charged to 100%, was playing around with it and noticed 95%, checked battery and it had only been 1min 46secs. If something on my part please let me know cuz I really want to run this but must have good battery based on my work, don't have a chance to charge during the day.

Still love this ROM!

Well edgee try to help me try this settings go under pimp your rom slide to tools and the 3rd option says pimp your cpu
The settings are 192 low 1350 max and let me know

Ok mike28 is right basically what happens the min clock speed is clocked at 1026 which is way to high for battery consumption...

I've finally had time to tinker with it and realize that settings don't stick so I've been using KERNEL TUNER from the playstore and it seems to work ... only thing is if u reboot u have to redo your settings cause they won't apply after boot...

try that and see what it does for u and if anybody finds a better alternative please share with us ... I'm working on fixing this for us trust me here's a visual of what I mean

As u can see the settings revert but with kernel tuner it clocks at the lower speeds which in turn gives u better battery life

after i flashed this rom..i got a pink Samsung Galaxy S3 logo..then the next screen was all yellow with thin green and black lines..stays frozen on this screen..ive tried twice

Weird try again yes the Samsung letters are pink but after that it should let you boot maybe you had a bad download try again

another thing..i did originally go into recovery when i tried to flash..but just now i went into rom manager and clicked install rom from sd card..when i click the rom it says "unable to open..please remove any spaces from your file and folder path"..and of course idk what that means..it dosent say that for any other roms when i click

Honestly I dislike rom manager i rock twrp all the time and never have issues but try again

Check post #9. Put that in your system folder using root expolorer and reboot.

Ok folks updated the zip with build prop thanks to Airtioteclint also some other minor changes ....

Now as far as battery life I'm finally letting the Rom settle didn't have a chance before due to testing the zips but 2maro I'll have more info


I will tell you guy kernel tuner and system tuner seem to be sticking....
