Anyone having 64 bit PC??
As my PC is 32 bit so cannot build gingerbread.
froyo and older can be build on 32bit PC but gingerbread and above now requires 64 bit PC
If anyone has it I can upload the Ubuntu 11.04 of 600 mb in compressed zip.

Os comes in 32 bit and 64 bit ithink there is no 64 bit pc
The architecture depends upon the processor you have. If your processor supports 64 bit, you can install a 64 bit version of windows. google your processor model to see if it supports it or not.
My Phenom II X4 955 supports it and almost all Intel C2Ds have 64 bit support as well

Mine is not Core 2 Duo.
Its Pentium Dual Core and i know its architecture is 32 bit
processor not matters
lemme tell u for 64 bit pc ---- nothing special only for 64 bit os you need minimum of 4 gb ram .... thats it !!
& 32 bit os will work on lower than4 gb
if u install 32 bit os on 4gb ram it will show u only 3gb ram coz its thats the limit of 32 bit os
so.. if u can upgrade ur ram & install ubuntu again in 64 bit format then u can continue ur work!!

64 bit handles more amount of RAM efficiently.. Due to OS limitations windows cannot utilize more than 4gb of ram in 32 bit mode
If you play any CPU dependent game like Dragon Age or starcraft 2 on 32 and 64 bit, you will notice the difference.
back to the original subject
@op
you will need to install ubuntu in 64 bit mode.. Just running it off a pendrive or virtual drive wont help
Very very bad news for everyone.
My processor is gone
I tried to overclock it but it's dead now.
I want to buy a new processor + motherboard in price range of 12000 to 15000.
Any recommendations??
Intel or AMD?
Did you use a custom kernel to overclock your PC.......lol
No
PC can be overclocked by changing multiplier values in the bios.
Anyone don't try it please?
I changed the CPU clock ratio which was X9 to X15.
I made a mistake there I should have changed it to X10 or X11 and not X15 which is much big.
omg man, why did u do it .. hope you can salvage it somehow
Oh well if you are gonna buy, buy the one i own
Phenom II X4 955.. 3.2 Ghz Easily overclockable at stock cooler to 3.6 ghz
cost is around Rs 5800
And any MSI/Gigabyte 880G Motherboard.. make sure it has everything u need.. there are many varieties and I always choose MSI so as to avoid the bastar* Rashi Peripherials with their shitty service..they handle the warranty for Asus and XFX
Mobo cost should be around 3000-5000.
Even though i3 is a tiiiny bit faster, Phenom II X4 is quad core and will help in upcoming games and cheaper still..
all this from the point of a budget gamer , if you arent gonna game, just go for generic i3s (the cheapest u can find)..
hope this helps

Hey varun you must go for amd phenom x4 955 be overclocks till 4ghz perfectly!! Priced @5.5k for mobo you can choose some 4 to 5k mobo of gigabyte or msi...
i recomend u cheap mobo coz u the money which has been saved can be used th buy a gpu u can buy nvdia gts 450 or radeon 6570.... And dont forget about ram as in new mobo ddr3 being used ..... And one more buy a new power supply from good brand like fsp saga 450w costs approx 3k ....
Thats it!
F it is out of budget get amd athlon x4 it is way better than intel dual core ....
If u dont play games then remove graphics card.......
-this is the best u can get in this budget...!

Hey sunil btw which gpu r u using ....
Im having phenom x4 955 4gb ddr3 ati radeon 6770
Avoid XFX, ASUS @ all costs.. Rashi has the shittiest warranty service in india.. just google rashi peripherials complaints in google to see what i mean
Good GPU companies - Sapphire (ATI), MSI(both ATI and Nvidia)
Mobo - Gigabyte, MSI
follow what GTA said... AMD phenom is best choice as it is way better than Intel for performance, Gaming. also they come at less price than Intel. Plz don't try to overclock if you r not familiar to it and also there is no need to do it.
Go for Phenom or ATHLON X4.. both r from AMD.
And for mobo don't go for MSI.. go for any supported Gigabyte board.
We had very bad experience with MSI mobos, gigabyte is better and also has more no of service centers across India than any.
And yes .. if u r using Graphic card then u should have a good PSU.
FSP is good to buy at d price range.
In future if r going to change your graphic card then go for ATI rather than Nvidia as it is better than Nvidia.
i know all this as i am working in the same industry..
HIT THE THANKS BUTTON, IT WILL COST NOTHING. TRY IT..

Corsair CX400 or Gigabyte Superb ..cost around Rs 2200
MSI has one of the best customer service in the country. I am not telling you to follow what i said blindly.. Do some research before u buy anything .. pop in a question over at thinkdigit forums if u must..
By all means do not go for ASUS Mobos.. if you donot want to develop a brain tumor dealing with Rashi peripherials ltd.
Thanks everyone.
In some days I'll get amd phenom 2.
I already have nvidia gt-9500 1GB graphics card and the power supply is of VIP company
If you still didn't build your PC den consider this MOBO for you.
Any AMD PHENOM 2 processor is compatible with this one:
ASRock > Products > 870 Extreme3
Many person will not be aware about this brand but i am selling this to my clients since years and we didn't found any problem till date.
For Power Supply Unit; you are getting a good configuration den you have to get a good PSU. Go for any compatible(500Watts) FSP SAGA or COOLER MASTER PSU.
