FULL fire. leave no stones unturned. FIREEEEE............... use all weapons. they should give a second thought before closing down source code at our face.

Their managers will sure take a look at downgrading their credentials. MBA's usually have an unwanted ego regarding their smartness. that's their achilles heel.

aye aye captain. this is 3:56 am. the attack is in full swing. also it is a good idea to spread it in the media in any way if we can.

to sustain this campaign is important. to lay the sige to a fort is important. because human beings have a tendency to loose patients and leave.

Sir,

Hackers and developers of Indian android community have launched a major campaign against Indian phone manufacturer Micromax.

Android is an operating system for smart phones developed for smart phones by Google Inc. and relies on open source components such as Linux kernel as its core.

Micromax is 3rd biggest seller of phone in the world after Samsung and Nokia.

Indian Hackers & Developers of Google android phone have been requesting the source code of their android smart phone A70 for the last few months. How ever the company has not relented.

The campaign has been going on in full swing and the facebook page(Micromax Mobile - Wall | Facebook) of Micromax and their email ( info@micromaxinfo.com) has been flooded by request for the kernel source code of their phone. The campaign has been viral and participation has poured in from all quarters of India including ordinary users have been pitching in. the can be contacted via phone in the following no.01149790000

The kernel of android phone is linux and source code Linux is covered under GPL (General Public License).

This is the first time in history of India that Indian hackers and developers have united and started a campaign for the kernel source code.

All the leading manufacturers of Google android smart phones like HTC, SAMSUNG, LG, MOTOROLA, Huawei, have released the source code of their phone.

This has helped the International developer community of those phones to port latest versions of Google android such as Gingerbread ( android ver.2.3), Ice Cream Sandwich (andriod ver.4.0)

However the Indian developer community has been left far behind because this Indian manufacturer is resisting the release of source code.

The present campaign shows that Indian developer community has come of age and can become a major force to reckon with. The days of traditional software development is declining.

True know how of internals of smarts phone is in great demand among tech savvy youth and industry alike. This leads to better job prospectus and a satisfactory work experience and a sense of achievement.

I hope you will give a due coverage to this changing scenario in the landscape of of Indian software, the revolution and future of the new industry.

We should upload a video which shows performance e.g. quandrant score on stock which is around 470 all the time & then quadrant with 890-900 or above which we are getting after using super roms like Hybrid 3 for me.This can make people to know if developers can do this without src then what they can't do with src.

Actually Hacker is a mis-nomer. Hacker means a person having intense curiosity to know & explore about the system(os).
And what we call a person hacker today was actually known as Cracker.
But now the term Hacker is being generally used for cracker.
So many of us here are hackers but not crackers n I LOVE BEING A HACKER.(Actual Hacker)
And i suggest we should use term developers only while interacting with media people.

You said my hearts content.

Original hackers hack the config files of OS.

In that sense you all are hackers.

I had purposefully used the term to garner media attention.

Developer is not a term that media will gulp down.

Another intelligent doctor. Android devs are mostly docs now a days eh.

By intelligent I mean - a person who takes unconventional paths.

I agree with you 100%. It is you and I who know the difference. having said that i will also say this: The media people arent educated enough to know the difference between the two terminologies used. If we send printed statements to the media, believe me, they will twist and turn the entire thing against us.

I am a hacker as well. Not limited to breaking into a phone using its known exploits but locate and plug security leaks in scripts and portals. Today, unless you specify that you are an ethical hacker and do not misuse the security flaws you will termed as a criminal with intend to create problems.

i think no need to create a website.if we want we can create a page for a70 in Facebook.we all can become members there, invite other users and we can continue our campaign there also.if we use the term hacking then media might think as we are demanding for kernel source instead of its a right for all users who using android device.
