I think I know what you're doing wrong (because I made the same mistake about 50 times). After you've held down the Power button and the 'X' key and you get the other screen (can't remember what it looks like), let go of ONLY the 'X'. So while keeping you're finger on the power button, press the volume up button and the camera button.

Actually you can release the power button as soon as the phone turns on (M-logo). You only need to have the X key pressed in.

Ok ....... so ....... hmmmm ........ what ???

After reading the whole topic 3 times over i still don't get it. It could simply be my being an idiot but none of you have actually explained the solution. I get the same thing. I push camera+volume up like a gazilion times and nothing happens. Do I need to let the phone finish booting? You know , let it "think" 1 or 2 minutes after the triangle screen shows up? Or am I doing something wrong?

Please, can someone explain this? A really dumbed down explanation for a total idiot like me would do just fine. Much appreciated. Thanks.

I think the onlything i've not seen mentioned is that its not just a case of pressing the volume up and the camera keys but you have to rapidly do alternate pressing of them.

Well thats what i do on mine.

Do you have openrecovery or nandroid installed? They're what i have.
