Hi everyone, my first post, first day with the Moto Milestone! And im looking forward to experimenting with my first Android device
I had troubles after uninstalling a protected app, and though this started as a plea for help ive decided to make it a quick guide while its still at the top of google and the links working.
Stock firmware 2.0 on an unlocked Russia-purchased Milestone. It had been rooted using the
simple update.zip method you can find here.
This methods restores any Milestone to its retail state, completely replacing the firmware (like reinstalling Windows).
You need the following software:
Motorola Driver Installer

x64

Motorola Milestone .sbf ROM file

RSD Lite 4.6.0 flashing app
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
Perform the following actions
1. Unplug phone and enter bootloader by turning on the phone while holding POWER+CAMERA+VOLUME UP
2. Plug in phone
2. Launch RSD Lite with administrator rights in Windows
3. Load the .sbf file and press start
You now have a new operating system. Google will remember your settings (though i had to redo my wifi). You can safely update from 2.0 directly to 2.0.1 - i tested this and it works flawlessly.
If you want to root your 2.0.1, follow instructions and get file from this guide:
