I believe it was your gps fix you posted I added in, and the values for call volume you or someone posted in that thread too I added.

Wasnt aware of vibration issues, but see Bob pushed a fix for it, so will check that out.

I've been having that problem too but there have been many people who said vibration worked for them... Maybe it's an issue based on what firmware/rom you had before flashing or something... idk :P
I think the vibration is probably one of the few things that keep me from using cm10 on this phone - with the amount of texts I get plus how I don't really like my phone making noises while in lectures while still knowing someone texted me (computer science classes can sometimes be boring... :\ ) makes it so no vibration is a big deal to me.

I wonder if what swain did with the gps fix - (at least I assume) copying the original gps.default.so in our system/lib/hw from stock rom into cm could be changed to fix sensors, camera and vibration...
I mean on the system/lib/hw folder there's a camera.msm8960.so that maybe if we copy over it might fix the tint?
and I am not sure which of the .so's might have to do something with the vibration... my only guesses from the /hw library is hwcomposer or sensors.msm8960...

I don't know if that'd work at all - I assume that this folder is android's API which controls how hardware should interact and what can you do with it, etc. but I might be completely wrong...

I'm just throwing ideas :P

Thanks for all the help PG.

edit:
I have a question - if we flash this rom and then flash the rom-less paranoid android zip or paacman would it still have the vibration/volume/gps fixes or would we have to find the separate fixes for them and re-apply them?

I've looked into that and using most stock ics libs aren't going to work unless they're lg related (drm and divx) and written into the framework (I believe). The first thing I tried was the stock gps default and it didn't work. The stock conf does because it's an assisted configuration for gps...

All ports really do is change a few things in the framework and system ui mostly. But we really shouldn't clog up this thread with questions about ports.. You should ask johnny about his ports..

vibration fixes are in system/xbin/cm10.tar (the ramdisk 2nd-init loads). The call volume fixes are in the build.prop. Far as other ROMs etc, no clue, all depends on what all their creators have in em.

Alright That's good to know.

If you don't mind divulging though - where did you get the proper gps file? maybe we could get more parts from that phone's/rom system libraries?

edit: I just checked for Paranoid android and it flashes a different build.prop so the call volume fixes will probably not be the same unless I add them manually

as for the xbin, it doesn't flash anything to xbin so I think if we(I) flashed this rom as a base and then paranoid android I might end up with working vibration but maybe lower call volume.

I just wonder if maybe deleting build.prop from the flashable zip might make it so paranoid android doesn't boot... it's unlikely but still probable since I don't know exactly what routines android goes through when booting
But if we don't really need to build.prop in the zip then I think that would be a safe bet that it would work.

Thanks a lot, again - PG for clearing things out for me

it would be easier just to add the call volume edits to the buildprop after flashing. because my ports do contain a buildprop with specific entries for the port. everything else should work fine.
all your doing is changing two numbers.

Alright, will do :P

I think I'll go to bob'z thread and look for the edits needed for the volume. I think it had something to do with changing the volume steps but I don't know.

or if PG can post what the changes he made for the latest edit are it'd be highly appreciated in case someone wants to try the same thing.

I added Bob's cm10.tar to my device repo for the vibration fix and edit the the build.prop with the following for call volume:
Code:
ro.config.vc_call_vol_steps=20
ro.config.vc_call_vol_default=15

Now just for the record, mms is supposed to be working as is GPS, backlight, vibration etc.?

the only things not working are front face video and 1080p video?

I can live with that no problem :3

Thanks a lot PG and everyone else... again c;

On the notification panel..pressing it does nothing.. If you long press it it'll take you to the data settings menu where you can switch it from there.

This build is more updated with some more fixes.

@PG,I keep on getting some random reboots, and lockups, and force closes. I think it's the 1.62ghz kernel doing this. You should offer a CM10 with the 1.5ghz Kernel and one with the OC or just get rid of the kernel entirely, just a suggestion.

I tried it and it seems good for the most part but I had to switch back to stock due to random reboots, didn't have too much more to try out other than that but I would love to help any possible way to get this along more. It seems to keep getting better with development for this phone.

I've been trying it for about an hour without the paranoid rom added on top to see how well everything goes and the vibration seems to work just fine as is the gps.

Outside of the front face video not working and the tint in the 1080p video I don't have much problems...

Except for maybe one thing that I am trying to figure out now... When I am on a call and I put speaker, no matter what volume I put it on with the volume rocker it is always the same volume... so putting it on max volume I hear everything at the same level as minimum... I don't know what that would be... my only guess is that maybe I am using the wrong volume setting, but I figured if I am in a call just pressing the volume keys should change the call volume not anything else... :\

I like this ROM, but it just keeps rebooting every time I installed an app. Everything else is working like the backlight and volume and vibrate. All this saved me times but I just don't like the random reboots. Any suggestions?

it's just missing the dalvic heap entries in the buildprop. that will fix the reboots.
you can flash this modified build.prop until pg can update the rom. it should fix the reboot issues.

I found something strange, paid version of juicedefender makes this ROM soft boot... instantly does it when I launch the app.

when did you download the rom? it's been updated 2 or 3 times today. there was a buildprop addition that fixes reboots and crashes just recently. theres a flashable buildprop a few post up if you don't want to redownload the rom.

Did the media bug get fixed? Last time I was on PG's, the phone would crash if I unlocked screen while playing music, or received a call. If it didn't reboot, the music would play super slow and the rest of the phone would move at a snail's pace until reboot.

When I last tried it, it worked just fine with apollo music player, I played a good 20 minutes or so of music with no problem.

I was trying something to see if I could fix the call volume thingy because it wouldn't let me change the volume while in call at all and even at max it was lower than stock's lowest volume. Accidentally I messed up and bootlooped my phone changing stuff (don't ask) and when I wanted to try to use recovery to restore back to my stock f setup before the initial flash, I realized ... someone *cough cough* Ms. Llama *cough cough* ... deleted my backup that I saved on my computer just to be safe.

So I had to restore back to stock... re-root it and re-flash a custom rom so... I won't be able to try to change things on this rom anymore.

...

Oh yeah there was also 1 problem I ran into earlier - I don't know if it happened because I came from a heavily-customized stock rom (deleted some system apps, changed the layout of some others... flashed a ton of tweaks for optimization/cameras/keyboards/etc.) but when I first tried re-starting my phone it froze on the lg logo for a good 10 or so seconds and then I had a completely blue screen (kinda like window's blue screen but with no text) for like about a minute. After the minute or so time it eventually showed me the boot animation and it booted fine but in airplane mode... idk what caused it but it was weird. And cool...
