Default Moto 360 price?

How much do you think the Moto 360 will cost? I'm going to guess $299 because it looks like a super premium watch. In reality I'd consider paying much more, especially as an early adopter, maybe up to $500 if the features/specs/etc.. fall in order.

This is a watch that anyone can wear without seeming like an uber geek. Most people wouldn't even be able to tell its a smartwatch. This is the opposite of the Google Glass "Glasshole" phenomenon... it just fits in perfectly.

I think the Samsung Galaxy Gear was $300 when it launched and I'm predicting the LG G Watch will be closer to $199 or $249, but it'd make sense for the Moto 360 to fall into that range.

Well. I like it but I can't swing 500 bucks for a watch. I'm not sure I can swing 300 So i sure would hope to see it more around there then 500.

I'm hoping $199 but I highly doubt it. That phone looks expensive.

A premium watch like that. If its under $300 it will knock Samsung out of the game.

Aren't the Pebble watches $250? I'd expect something really competitive/expensive that drops in price quickly like the Moto X did.

I think half the problem with these watches will be their life expectancy. A $300 watch could potentially last you a lifetime if looked after. Inevitably like most of our smart phones; batteries loose their charge, screens crack and lets not start on water damage.

I'd love one of these but at the same time I'd rather cough up for a real watch.

I'm guessing $400 in the US and £600 in UK.....just because.

I'd pay $300 and possibly up to $400 for it if it ends up being as good as it looks.

I'm definitely with you on that note, Phases. No way can I spend $500 on a smartwatch.

I'm hoping for no higher than $300. Anything higher than that, they would be pricing themselves out of the market in my opinion.

I paid $200 for the GALAXY GEAR (THX to a T-MOBILE snafu on accessory discounts) & $300 for the QUALCOMM TOQ (currently $250,original price $350).

Still have the TOQ & while I'm quite pleased w/the performance/features/battery life,I'm somewhat burned-out getting the latest & greatest on opening day,or,soon thereafter.

Trust me,if your think the proverbial "NEW CAR SMELL" fades quickly from a smartphone,it's gone in a flash w/a smartwatch.Wait a month or so after initial release & the inevitable price drops. As w/all tech,it'll happen soon enough, especially when more mfgs jump on the smartwatch bandwagon.

I'd say $200 is my ceiling for one of the new breed of (ANDROID) smartwatches,& that's only if any of 'em have a lot of added & useful features not found on the TOQ.

This is my thinking also, unless they can bring the prices down to the $150 and under range I don't foresee ever owning a smartwatch unless it fully replaces the handheld device.

It's probably impossible to guess the price. If Motorola decides to win the market (and they might as well try it) price should not be more than $200. If they try the Apple strategy of "exclusivity", (which is a possibility too) price will be much higher.

They announced a sapphire display on Friday and that adds to the cost. Figuring my plastic Pebble is $150 and the steel version $250, I don't see how the 360 will be less than $250. I'm willing to bet it'll be $300+.

I'm afraid you're going to be correct. I can do $200. I'll force myself to do $250. But $300 is out.

But on the other hand, the LG G looks like it will be more of a bargain. Is that a nice way of saying "cheap?" LOL. I would expect that to be in the $99-$150 range.

I'm not sure about price drops

The Galaxy Gear was still selling at $299 for a bit, even after the unveiling of the Gear 2. I'm thinking that prices on these things isn't going to drop as quickly as some might hope.

The question of longevity has been raised. I'm thinking that, if manufacturers want wearables to ever be anything more than a small niche, they will either have to make these things long lasting (ignoring planned obsolesence), or drop the price point considerably.

$500 (as some have suggested)? I can buy an antique gold watch, which actually has intrinsic value and will continue functioning damn near forever, for that price. Pricing any smartwatch (other than maybe special "premium" editions) at that level pushes the device way out into nicheville. Especially when it'll be outdated within a year or three

price on gear watch was lowered because nobody was buying it and not because of the announce of gear 2. It's no wonder because most smart watches make you look like a tool. Put on a suite and walk in the office wearing GoPro 3 on your head. Same impression smartwatches are making on people.

You completely miss my point: the price really HASN'T dropped, for the most part

Online retailers are still selling 'em for anywhere from $199-350. US Cellular DID drop their price to $150 recently... since they want to get rid of their Galaxy Gears in anticipation of the Gear 2

So I had a dream last night I was at the store and the 360 was $266 and the LG G was $246. So I thought for the extra $20 I might as well get the 360.

Take that for what it's worth

I want this watch badly. But let's face it, it's a watch. If the functionality is basically the same and the LG G watch costs $99, while the 360 is 200+, I'm going with the G.

Where did you see the G would be $99?

LG G Watch coming by July, to cost less than €220 - GSMArena.com news

That is extremely disappointing. $300 US.

Unless LG either a) comes up with an absolutely awesome piece of equipment, or b) drops that price dramatically, then they won't fly. You can get an Omate Truesmart for the same price

Having spent under the $299 retail price for 2 Galaxy Gears, courtesy of some great Best Buy deals, I'm hoping the Moto 360 falls in the 199-249 range at most. Anything more and I'll be fine sticking with the Galaxy Gear until there's a special price drop. The form factor and look of the Moto 360 is still the best looking smartwatch I've seen though and the fact that it'll be compatible with any future phone I go with later down the line, increases the appeal of it. I just hope we hear more definitive information soon.

You and me both, drex

I'd love to have the 360: seems like it will do everything the Gear does and more. But I'm not down with paying that $300+ for an accessory

So, I wonder if the 360 will be announced at the Motorola event in London on Tuesday (5/13). I saw one article hinting that it may happen, but we'll see. I'll be eagerly waiting for a formal announcement of any kind.

$350 in July?...Not great, but not "bad" either. Of course, it all depends on seeing the final product and if it's really up to all the hype:

You could be wrapping the Moto 360 around your wrist this July | News | TechRadar

What's funny is, I'd actually love the Kairos watch over the Moto 360, just not for potentially 3X's more if pre-ordered (or 6 X's more, if not pre-ordered).

I have a couple high-end watches that I haven't used in a long while, just because I was never big into wearing watches (and the tan lines that follow)...but after buying the Gear on sale and looking to swap out to the 360 later on, I'm finding more reason to wear one than prior years.

I think it will be very popular smartwatch and same as Moto G you are not going to getany discounts any time soon.

I'm hoping for a good healthy competition between the 360 and the LG G and we'll benefit

Mobile fun usually has prices that are a lot more than the US retail price, so I'm still holding out hope that the US price is $250

Moto 360 pricing revealed by online retailer

If it ends up being $300, I'll just try to find my Gear (which I randomly misplaced the other day, while at home) and hold out until the price drops to at least $250.

It seems it would be around the $250-280 range. At least that's what I'm hoping. Anything over $300, its a no go for me or at least until the price drops. I'm confident that will happen.

I have $249 set aside for the Moto 360, so hopefully when we see it at Google I/O, it'll be released shortly after. In addition to that, I was really happy to see Qi wireless charging as the chosen form of charging! There is a deal on the incipio Qi wireless charger right now, that I'm going to swoop up for $13, just to have an extra.

I'm going to wait on getting the 360 unless I get a new phone!

So the only Moto 360 news from Google I/O so far is "later this summer." I should have known not to get my hopes up.

You could hear all the moaning and growning in the crowd after the words "later this summer" came out of his mouth!....LOL.

I'm sure that will all be squashed when all the developers actually receive their Moto 360 that they'll be getting, in addition to either the G Watch or Gear Live, but for us consumers, that's a big Fail for Motorola, especially since the G Watch and Gear Live are going to be available today through the play store!

I was already planning on getting the G Watch for my mother as a belated mother's day gift, but now that the Gear Live is also going to be available, I will likely wait until those are both available for purchase at Best Buy, before purchasing.

Did you see the Engadget piece on the 360?

Moto 360 smartwatch makes an appearance at Google I/O

Watching that and then watching the hands on video with the LG, there's no comparison. It's hard to imagine spending $225 on the LG when presumably the 360 is going to be $250. That actually makes me think there's no WAY the 360 only goes for $250. That device looks amazing.

I hate that there's a wait, but I think it will be worth the wait.

From how the price points are set
Samsung $199
LG $229

I can definitely imagine the Moto 360 being $249. Out of all the Android Wear watches, at $249, the Moto 360 would be the best bang for the buck. Can't wait to see the formal announcement.

I hope you're right! I have $250 on my desk right now waiting for the 360 launch.

You know what I'm really looking forward to? What the devs do with this. Like honestly, what it's offering out of the box isn't anything more than what your cell can already do. Just slightly more convenient because it's popping up on your wrist. Six months from now, what kind of apps will we see for Android Wear?

It does appear it will cost $249, though I'm guessing the price will vary based on the wrist band it comes with. I'm guessing it will have a $249 price with the rubber wrist band and the price will increase if you want the leather or metal.

FWIW: BranFlake5 comments on Let's Recap I/O Today

I have an inside source. They attended I/O and a representative said that the Moto 360 will retail for $249 as of now unless there is some drastic change.
