Default Can't disable Email notification

I go to all apps > messaging > Message setting. When here I can change Texts and social messaging. Email is Grey'd out. WHY IS IT GRAY!???!

I am extremely frustrated by this. I like text notifications but hate email notifications. While testing diff setting w/ my roommate he Texted me "buy an iPhone"..... huts to say but I considered it.

Going that route allows you to set a general notification tone that applies to all incoming notifications unless otherwise configured. To turn off email notifications, go to your email app. Hit the menu button and choose settings. Select your email address. In there you should see the options for turning off notifications as well as the ability to change the notification sound for email. This can be done in most apps that raise notifications.

I hope this helps.
