If there was an update soak that went out to ppl that signed up for Motorola feedback, chances r nobody is going to say anything. One of the conditions of being eligible for early releases of updates is to keep quiet about it.
I got the notice today and it said best to be fully charged, plugged in and on wifi to do the update. Recommended backing up contacts first. I'll wait a few days. v4.5.141
Release notes don't have anything major, just something about improving stability and reducing the need to reboot (my phone reboots itself about once a week, have to remove battery now and then to do full reboot myself).
Device(s): HTC Vivid Rum Float4 ICS.
Motorola Atrix 4.5.141, rooted.

Are either of you rooted? If so how are you planning to preserve roor or reroot.
I would like to wait as well, but every hour the update message pops up, can I just download the update but not run it?
When I check for updates I get "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." I wish this would come in for me! I want to see if this makes my phone perform better, fix the issues I've been seeing.

I think I read somewhere that you must be connected via WiFi to download this update..

Same thing with mine, until it just got to a point IT JUST LOADED FOR EVER. Then i tried again by turning the phone off and back on, go to settings>About phone>system updates. And in a few minutes or less i got the message. You should try it. And you need to be connected to wifi.
I am from India and I got this Atrix 4G phone two weeks ago, an unlocked one. I am using it with a vodafone sim here and it works pretty good. The seller of this phone told me that this phone is unlocked with the code that is provided by AT&T, So I should be able to update the OS or using with custom ROM. Yesterday, I got a notification in my phone saying that an update on the software is available for AT&T users and enable WI-FI to begin download.
I alomost all the sites, I read that this update is available only for AT&T users and I am not sure would I get the notification if the udpate is available only for At&T users. Also what will happen if I (who is not a AT&T user )download and install the latest update on my phone.
Will there be any issues with the phone (like getting re-locked) if I install the update ?

I don't even know if Moto considers it an issue. Motorola phones have typically been this way even the latest device, the Maxx has 10% steps. Its kind of how Samsungs do not have a notification LED.
What I am disapointed in is that it didn't fix the battery jumping up by 15-20% after recycling power. This came about with the GB update, wasn't there before.
I cracked and just updated using the Moto software on my computer... couldn't wait any longer for the update that wouldn't show up! Lets hope this fixes some of the issues I've had with the phone and makes it run a bit smoother!
I was in the SOAK test for this update and Im having a problem since my update that Im wondering if anyone else is getting.
My sounds just stop working! Sometime during the day my sounds decide to just shut off and the phone just vibrates any notification. The problem is, the phone is still in sound ON mode. The sounds only come back on when I reboot the phone but that only lasts a couple hours again.
Has any one recieved a software update for the motorola atrix 4g?
If you have what has been update or change?
I heard the motorola atrix is getting an update starting today.
I ran the update on 2/17 and the only thing I have noticed is that it has slowed my web experience to a crawl. The app store is very slow to respond, and WiFi does not seem improve much on performance. It has also broken the link with my work email, if I am lucky I can get it to sync up once a day now.
Any one know how to roll back from an update, this is one I wish I had not installed.
I updated last week and have noticed a huge decline in battery performance. I never had to charge the phone throughout the day, now I am have to charge around 6pm just to make it through the evening.... So far, this update has sucked.

That's interesting, I have noticed a slight improvement in battery life after the upgrade. That is probably about the only change for me.
Huh. Did the update and it now doesnt correct my words when I am typing anymore. Before if I was 1 letter off I could just hit space bar and it would correct it. Not anymore. It still lists the words close to it and i can tap on them, but it wont just fix it.
Annoying. It doesnt even capitalize i when you're using it alone even anymore. Blah.

Did you go into the keyboard settings and verify that those options are chosen?
I finally got the update a few days ago. And i have no issues and i feel like the phone last longer charged. So far no random reboots even when i was doing tons of things at once.
It feels like the phone is running better most of the time... though this may be subjective. Only issue I've noticed is occasionally the touch screen stops working or acts wonky, but I was having issues like this before.

Update:
I added a "juice defender" style profile with tasker and my battery is lasting MUCH LONGER. I assume that some app was constantly churning data and killing my battery, just haven't found which one yet. I still find it odd that this only started happening after the update.
Applied the update last week to my stock Atrix. Nothing in the UI seems to have changed. No notifiable problems or issues, other than having to to reconnect BlueTooth in my car, which one tap solved. Also, I used the laptop dock a little this weekend. FireFox wanted to add several language add-ons. The webtop might be more stable than before, and it certainly needed to be.
The Motorola Atrix 4G brings several firsts to AT&T's lineup, among them a dual-core CPU in the form of NVIDIA's Tegra 2 platform. The CPU is clocked at 1GHz per core, providing enough zip to match the HSPA+ connectivity and 4G download... Read More
