Default Atrix HD: Sim Card Error

Hello, so I've looked through the forums and there's nothing pertaining to my particular problem, so I figured I'd ask for help.

I recently got an Atrix HD and it's been working without so much as a problem for several weeks, until this morning. The phone is displaying a "No sim card|emergency calls only" error. I've had this problem with other phones in the past and know that usually turning the phone off, removing the card, replacing and turning it back on is usually the fix, this time however that is not the case.

AT&T is my carrier.
I am still able to connect to Wi-Fi

I know that there is always the option of the factory reset, however I have a few pictures I would like to save from the wipe that this entails. Is there anything anyone can do to help? I am aware of course that I can go to my nearest tech center, however I don't own a car and am quite far away from the nearest store.

Default No SIM = Lots of Problems

Thatís not usually a good thing bluebeetle52 and can be tough to fix.

As you know your phones not reading your SIM properly which ISNT GOOD because your SIM talks to AT&Ts towers and SIM trouble means service trouble.

Pull the SIM out of the phone and take a pink eraser and use the eraser to clean the metal side of your SIM that connects to the phone. Put the SIM back in and try it again.

If it doesnít work then letís hope that itís your SIM card that's malfunctioning.

Go to a local ATT store or retail location for a replacement SIM. Or if none are near you hop on an ATT phone and dial 611 (or 1-800-331-0500 for ATT Customer Care) and request that they send you a New SIM replacement in the mail.

If a replacement SIM doesnít solve the issue then the card reader on the phone might be damaged or is malfunctioning and a replacement on the device might be needed. Look into your warranty options at that point.

You should also know how to do a simulated battery pull should your Motorola Atrix HD freeze on a black screen or wont power on. You canít pull the battery out of that phone so you have to do a simulated one instead.

Good luck Bluebeetle52
