Default unlock screen

I bought a cliq xt off a guy on craigslist and I don't use T-Mobile I'm waiting for my unlock to use it on my carrier. I am stuck on the emergency calls and unlock swipe code screen. Do I have to wait for my unlock code to actually mess around with the phone? or did the guy put some security code on the phone itself?

well, the guy you bought the cliq XT from prob. had a passcode on it!! you need to find that out and after you find that out, you then could somehow unlock it with some code or something!
