Default Already regretting my cliq:(

Ok, so received the cliq today and already finding little niggles that are starting to aggrevate us already!
1 - installed meebo straight away and the notification for incoming instant messages is so damn quiet as to be completely useless and everywhere i search, i can't find a way to change this!
2 - there seems to be a sensitivity problem with the screen when calling, i keep hanging up in peoples faces for no reason!

Any suggestions, the first day with the new phone is supposed to be a joy, this is just a pain in the arse!

use it for a while while you still have buyers remorse period if you don't like it , return it and get the behold II when it comes out.

Not sure why your notifications are so quiet my Cliq is at least 2 times as loud as my G1.... and when you receive a call just quickly tap the power button like you would on any other android phone and it will black the screen out so that accidental touches wont affect the call...

I don't like the fact that the Cliq doesn't have buttons to send/end calls.

OMG!!! I so agree with Mikeedoo & Bigpink! This has been my experience also! Very annoying. I've only had my clique a week... I actually am starting to miss my envy from verizon (I know it's a sin to say that- forgive me.) I miss verizon's turn by turn navigation system... It actually spoke! The Google Maps app (although free) doesn't offer this - and let's face it you can't read and drive at the same time... or at least your not suppose to. It's just a bad idea. So if any of you know of a free download for turn by turn with a voice and accurate GPS please let me know.

I dont know what you're talking about. I have Google Maps and it does talk to you turn by turn. When you use it, it tells you to install Voice Guidance for that feature to work.

Well, this has not been my experience. I have since replaced this with a G1 hoping for better results.

I returned my Cliq a couple of days ago. It's not as fast as my rooted G1. If you need a navi, try downloading Waze or Nav4All.

Thanks so much for the information. I am very happy with my G1. The clique for all of its technology just is not good for the simple things. It's great if you live on social networks, and live to catch every email as it comes in. Well, let's just say the clique over complicates what should be simple task. The G1 on the other hand provides as many goodies as the clique but without the complications. Bottom line: G1 gets the kiss of approval! And for that rude person above: G1 Keeps It Simple Silly!

Get your G1 rooted. Makes a world of a difference.

Hard to explain. You're gonna need to have someone help you with it. Here's an example. YouTube - The FASTEST Donut ROM EVER For The G1!!! No doubt.

You are correct that Google maps does now have free turn by turn navigation with voice and it is very nice. However, it currently does not work on the cliq as it still has android 1.5. Not a problem for me though. 2.1 is coming for the cliq very soon.
