Hey guys! New user here from Phoenix


I've been browsing the forum and have not found any info on the subject, so I apologize in advance if this has been brought up before.

I have the Motorola Cliq (T-Mobile - USA) and am running on Android 1.5. There is so much I cannot download because I'm running on 1.5 and not 2.2. 2.2 is not coming out until the end of the year for the Moto Cliq. Is there any possible way to download the update elsewhere for my phone?

Right now, the only way you can go above 1.5, is to either download the unofficial 2.1 rom, or root the phone and download one of the custom roms. Right now, there are no 2.2 roms that I know of for the Cliq. If you need information on rooting, there is a sticky under the Cliq section of this form titled, "All things root". It'd be a great place to start and has alot of info from various sources

just go to
CLIQ Software Support - Motorola USA
update from motorola.
as long as you follow the steps correctly (VERY EASY)
You will update your phone to android 2.1 (blur version)
I did it successfully today.
Now I get the updated market and can use google NAV etc.
