Default Just gave this one to my wife for Christmas

Really amazed how different the interface is, even the swype keyboard, from the Samsung Galaxy S II. I expected a different due to MotoBlur vs TouchWiiz, but was thinking most of the parts would be more similar while both are running Gingerbread.

Using it on AT&T, she never really uses data anyway so having just edge when away from WiFi is fine with her. So far all is good.

Hoping this phone will hold up to her, she as a habit of breaking them alot. She has used my last 3 upgrades on AT&T because of her not being able to get one to last 2 years.

This is her first Android and she is still learning, added the help center app to her home screen.

I've used it a little and so far like it, well for being a single core processor and all... But, for my wife it should be a perfect fit.

Don't know of many GSM tough phones running Android so this is best I've used in that category.

We took a road trip last weekend and learned of one thing the Defy + will do that is really cool: Connect to another Android's WiFi hotspot. Which is really good for her. If we're on a road trip I can Wifi share from my SGS2 (normally powered by car and running music app and gps anyway) and she can connect for faster access since she only gets Edge with that phone.

What are the 3G specs on your Defy +? Because I thought there was a version that uses at&t's 3G frequencies.

I forget, when I was buying it before Christmas there was none that I could find that supported AT&Ts frequencies. My daughter and I have the Samsung GT-I9100, mine from Norway and hers from UK, and we both have 3G as I required that for my phone. I got in in June and my daughter liked it a lot so she got one for Christmas. Needless to say, that was the only gift for her this year at that cost.

I never had the original, but from the specs I think it is just the processor and Android version. The Plus have the better in both cases.
