Default GPS not connecting issue on Defy, solved

Im new to android and forums so apologies if ive done this wrong. Also im not sure if this is a Defy specific issue or common to all Android phones.

For the past 3 weeks my GPS would not connect, possibly as a result of rooting/deleting stock apps.

As i use it as my main satnav this was a big problem, while searching market to reinstall google maps i stumbled across an app called GPS status + Toolbox. This free app is a lifesaver, it showed my Defy was only finding 1 satellite and wasnt able to connect to it.

The app has an option to delete the GPS cache and download new GPS assistance data which took less than a second. Now my GPS locks on faster and more accurately than ever. I regularly find and lock onto 8 satellites within 6 seconds. the developer has a donation version for just under two pounds which i bought aswell.

Hope this helps someone
