Default Tether question - am i being charged?

I'm new to rooting, and have just installed the CM7 gingerbread ROM on my Defy. My question is...am I being charged for tether usage when I turn it on? Do I need to download an app to fly under the radar? I know I need to stay under my 2GB of data.

No but your internet data usage will increase, and if you abuse it you will get "throttled" down.

You won't be charged if its the wifi tether apk .
The hotspot tether is extra.
