Question screen lock soft key (1.6)

I have a Motarola devour running android 1.6. its not rooted and i dont really want to until my contract is out.

my problem is that my lock button is messed up and i really want a widget that i can lock the screen with. i tried a few but they didn't work, only thing i could figure is they were intended for froyo.

anybody know of an app that works? doesnt have to unlock i have an optical mouse that can do that.

If you use a PC and log into your market account @ http://market.android.com then you an look at various apps online, and it will also tell you which are compatible with your phone and which are not.
