Default Locked/Unlocked Bootloader?

So, I know it's been rumored to be either way, since Motorola said future phones would be unlocked...
Has received a unit yet, or official word as to whether the Droid 3's bootloader is locked or unlocked?

Yeah it's locked. I might not care so much if the reviews are good. I have all the confidence that the devs will find a way to root it anyways.

So don't fret.

If it can be rooted, I would be happy to remove bloat and the enterprise related app stuff.

It has been stated by the Droid Concepts ROM team that about 90% will be working on dev for the Droid 3, so it looks good so far

It should be getting an OTA update later this year and unlocked, Droid 3 sadly shipping with locked bootloader -- Engadget

Something tells me if it's up to the carriers, we won't be seeing them. Verizon doesn't seem to be taking too kindly to rooted users.

at this point does it really matter? Look how far the DroidX has come along with a locked bootloader the entire way. Im so tired of people shying away from a device just based on the bootloader. ....lame sauce.

I'm still switching to the D3 anyway, just because of this sorry excuse of a phone I just bought (X2)

P.o.s. has restarted like 12 times just today and overheats all the time.

Not any rampant reports of overheating yet with the D3, which by this time was the case for the X2.

I know what you're saying...but lame sauce?

Does it really matter? Yes. Does it really matter to you? Maybe not.

Some of us like having more control than you'd have with an Apple product for instance. Some of us like having more control than you'd have with a stock Android device. And some of us don't want the bootloader getting in the way of total control...

Some of us are just control freaks...don't judge us!
