Not sure about a widget, but for the calendar, just go to Menu, More, Calendars, and click on the eye to set the calendars you don't want to "not visible".
As an alternative, if the calendar you want to not show up is the Exchange one you could also go to the Email app and click Menu, Account Settings, and uncheck the "Sync Calendar" box.
I have my corporate Exchange account sync'd (calendar, contacts, and e-mail) together with my GMail and it works great. I use the GMail icon for my personal account and the Email icon for my work e-mail.
