Default .wav file unrecognized format

I can't seem to play .wav files with the native music player. It says unrecognized file format.

Any ideas?

Never had this issue on the incredible.

I've noticed the same thing. You'll have to install a third-party player from the market that supports .wav files. The files I needed to play were not that important, so I never pursued it myself.
