Default Droid 3 updates with Page Plus.

I just bought a Droid 3 phone and I am using it as a pre paid phone through Page Plus. I have noticed that my System version is 5.6.890 and from I can tell there is a newer version. When I go to check updates it says there is none. Can I not update this phone since I am using it as a prepaid phone and not through Verizon?

Nope. You are already running the latest RELEASED ROM version. We are waiting for a second update to show up as an OTA, someday, but it has not been released yet. Versions of it have been taken off some Motorola servers, but the release has not yet happened. When it does come out, or if you otherwise obtain and install it, it removes root and though there is a different (Droid4) method to regain root after applying this update, there are serious problems regarding ever going back to any earlier ROM version.
