First, I am new to Android. I purchased a used Verizon Droid 3. I bought an unlock code and installed it. it said was successful. When I install the sim from my old phone (PCMobile Canada)which uses HSPA (or UMTS) The phone does not work. I get time/Date. It looks like it is getting signal (4 bars). Do I have to root or flash the phone to get it to work? Is there some setting I have to change? I am not sure how to proceed! What am I doing wrong? I was under the impression that once it was unlocked, inserting a sim from another provider would work. Any help or tips appreciated.

We're you able to find an answer. I was given a Droid Bionic 4g lte that is unlocked on the CDMA network. I don't know how to proceed. Any thoughts are appreciated.

what network are you trying to connect to?

Phone working now. A few problems not about network though.
had to set it for cdma, auto would not work.
PC Mobile uses Bells network.
