Arrow How can I push Ice Cream sandwich

Hey fellas,

Any way I can push Ice Cream sandwich to my Droid 4 or my wife's Razr Maxx now, since Verizon is dragging their feet like a bunch of procrastinating goofs?

Mucho gracias amigos!

Other than installing a custom ROM, no.

Ok, at least now I know, I appreciate it

I may look into the custom rom, I didn't even know it/they existed. I got out of the whole unlocking, rooting, and flashing since I switched to Android a couple years ago. I did have some fun with my Droid2 though.

I would love to use the 4G as a hotspot for my laptops etc while I'm out and about or taking long road trips. Maybe that would be the way to go if it's stable?

As long as you get a stable 4G signal.

As for your wife's Maxx, you should be able to pull it by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates. I believe they pushed ICS to RAZRs a week or so ago.

Our ICS is coming sometime in Q3 of 2012 according to Moto, so basically any time from now until the end of September. What frustrates me is that they are working on the Bionic's ICS update before the newer D4, but whatevs.

For the D4, you can wait for the official update, or flash a custom ROM, but I can't say which ones are stable/daily drivers. There an awful lot of Nightlies out there from AOKP and CM9 though, as well as leaked ICS builds from Moto, but I've heard that flashing them will take you off the update path (you won't get the official update when they push it out to us).

Good luck, buddy!

If you are looking for a stable 4G connection, I recommend staying away from the AOKP and CM9 roms, as they drop 4G a lot.

I'm running the most recent ICS ROM with no issues at all.
