I use a Z-Shield, are you guys being 100% honest in the manner you dropped your phones? I find it hard to believe there is nothing on your screen did the OG droid have gorilla glass? Cause mine was looking a little rough when I upgraded...
I do think the GG is amazing stuff, but it is not impervious to damage. I have one ding in it, at the very bottom almost perfectly centered, from when I dropped it face down in my garage and it landed on a piece of gravel. The screen is recessed enough that nothing happens to the screen, as long as it is a flat surface you drop it on. I'm not a fan of screen protectors, but I will put some sort of "skin" on the body of my next phone, as the carcass of my OG Droid is looking a little worse for wear.
Actually, the other vendors have kept this under wraps pretty well until recently and my source didn't have insight into those. I'll admit I was wrong if those are released as planned. (re 1.5 ghz).
If it makes you feel any better, I'll stop giving you guys insights as they come my way. Ignorance is bliss.
Eh.
I don't really care all that much to be honest.
I have never hidden my feelings that I think the information you provide is simply what we already know and/or guess.
Do what you will, one must make their own choices in life.

Yoda, all of us are biased in some way or another. Some of us will jump on the Bionic on Day 1 and proclaim it to be the best phone ever even if it has issues we don't like and even if we know that there are bigger better phones coming out less than 2 months later.
None of us care if you say the Bionic is awesome or that it will be worth it. A ton of us agree with you. It's just the comments like "My Bionic is getting a 12 hour charge so far and I've downloaded at 51 mps in the city" garbage. If you do actually have one, it would be the easiest thing in the world to take a picture of it with a current newspaper and post it. That would turn you into a phone rock-god and make us (your detractors) look like total idiots and shut us up. You wouldn't be in any trouble if you really are a tester, because there have been so many leaked pics of it lately, no one would know who it was.
I've seen some really insightful and smart posts from you here and there. Keep those coming.

Speculation about an upcoming Android device is one of the most fun and interesting parts of the forums here. That's why I brought several threads together and made them into this sticky.
But I've had to edit out some of the insults and personal remarks made toward one another in this thread. No more remarks like that, please.

It's funny because it's timestamped for April. Has it really been under our noses the whole time? We need to watch the Dev site...
The page itself is timestamped today at the current time, meaning the page content is assembled on the fly for your browser the way dynamic websites do it. I don't doubt the memo's April original submission date (it looks familiar to me from awhile ago), but I'm pretty sure the part mentioning September is a recent addition. Perhaps someone at Motorola covering their tracks.

Don't stop. You're able to admit bias and fallibility, which puts you ahead of some posters.
Motorola is headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois, and Illinois demographics is about 21% German. So they wouldn't be leprechauns, they'd be zombie vampires.

I live in Illinois. German in ancestry, more mixed today (I have German family). I wouldn't take the whole state average for Schaumburg.
According to Wikipedia, Motorola employs the most people, 7000ish. They have demographics on that page as well.
I live about a 30 minute drive from Moto headquarters... I've never actually gone to it... Why haven't I? Must... find... Bionic...

Actually, Motorola Mobility is in Libertyville, IL. Solutions is what you're thinking of.
In either case, buy Motorola - support the US economy (for Android at least).

I don't want you to stop posting. True or not true, doesn't matter. I like to think or hope it's true, but I just like reading about it. If it turns out not to be true, I'm a big boy, I can handle it. When the phone gets to the stores and is for sale, that's when we'll know FOR SURE!
But I do have a question, how did a thread titled Bionic release date speculation thread, get on to the topic of screen protectors and television shows?
Still liked reading about that stuff though! :-)

I'll take my fair share of blame. The truth is, when you've got Pinnochio, sci-fi characters, and general rage turned, for a moment, away from Moto and towards the idiots who canceled a SyFy show, you know you've stumbled into a room full of angry geeks that are tired of speculating and googling how many posts labeled "droid bionic" have turned up in the last hour because it frankly isn't doing any good.

Support the US economy? I would bet my phone that Motorola has outsourced production of the majority of their phones and parts to China or some other low wage country.

Ahh but a newspaper would give away too much.
Question for you guys:
What will be the main drivers in your next phone purchase?
Since phones have similar specs, what stands out?
Last edited by YodaDroid; August 6th, 2011 at 11:49 PM.
Besides, my mind has been off the bionic and towards the next new phone anyhow (may be 1 or 2 generations ahead). Sorry, my lips are sealed
(This one is skunk works stuff. Being watched directly by corporate espionage henchmen. It's actually a bit scary how strongly this is being guarded)
Can't tell you the manufacturer (you might also ask, can it fly? No comment)
And so it begins, the next hunt...
I am going to get the Bionic nearly 100%, one would hope that they fixed the majority of the issues over the past 8 months they have delayed its release.
Yoda, I cannot say it has been pleasurable or that I will miss hearing from you, but you have a wonderful life =)
I'll be in chicago soon on business think we can sneak in and grab a couple bionics? If we get caught we can say we're doing real world tests on the thing...

No offense, but you mention no specifics and only generalities that are already in the info and rumor cloud for the Bionic. Are you testing material for a forum based Seinfeld routine? A show about nothing
i currently have a 3 days old droid charge and i have seen the videos on youtube about the bionic but some videos show the bionic lag like in the menus moving it up and down side to side, also the color seen wash out, now i am not here to talk crap about the phone i just want to know if it will be really a good phone?

Now this thread is getting interesting.....
Interesting? I'll make it interesting =)
Hey guys, I know of a device some amount of generations ahead, it will have a 3d hologram screen, front neo-cortex interface, and a personal robotic servant to cook you breakfast in the morning!
Not to mention, it is powered via a positronic battery and thus will never require recharge!
But, I cannot tell you the date (rough or accurate), the manufacturer, or even the pricing it will be at.
^^^
The above statement is true, it will come out sometime in the future, it may be 300 years until it happens but it is true.
Enjoy the rumor mill =)

I think it will be good, also there is a thread above you that has accumulated the hopeful release dates.

Now we're REALLY getting interesting..... How 'bout a picture of it next to a bottle of Patron and the East Jesus, Nebraska Gazette?
"Isn't fun the best thing to have?" Quote from Arthur from the original movie by the same name.
