This article claims best buy is getting the case for the bionic on august 20. When is the last time a case wasn't available til almost 3 weeks after release? September is still a possibility. Either way, I don't think I could care much less. Sad, really.

VZ webpage has the Droid X2 and the Droid 3 on a BOGO offer right now. Could this mean something big is dropping soon? Why else discount brand new models?

So I know I had stated before in a MDB228 thread that we should all just disregard his nonsense.. BUT.. I have been greatly aggravated by the fact that Bionic may be pushed back to late August or early September..
Lets just hope that the files stating that Verizon will be getting the devices on Aug 1 are real..

Notice that it posted this on the 25th of July.. and the fact that its mentioning 'mere weeks' makes me think late Aug..due to the fact that no one person, specially an advanced computer like MDB228 would claim 'mere weeks' when Aug 4 is basically a week away.
Again this can all be based on nothing.. and just some kid having fun out of our irritation.. but if this MDB228 is legit.. then ....WTF MOTOROLA!?

With all the hype, rumors and speculation going on I don't know what to believe. But one thing I'm certain of, this is someone having a good time messing with people. This is fake.

I've heard that when the moderator merges release date threads that we are within 3 years of the device finally coming out. It is almost here folks!!!!
I think the sad part is quite a few people are thinking the same thing...
I was playing with a friends iPhone and I must admit I do like the no lag crap.
For me, this is the one notable advantage iOS/iPhone has over Android. But man, iOS bores me to tears. I'm a very artistic/expressive person and half the fun of Android (for me) is being able to customize it in any way that I want. Granted, when my D1 was stock, it was just about as reliable as the iPhone. Maybe the key to having a 99% reliable Android is leaving it stock? I don't plan on rooting/ROM'ing my next Android device, so we'll see.
Of course, another advantage for iOS is that some of the apps are of higher quality but this is a non-issue for me because the apps that I happen to be interested in are just as good on Android as they are on iOS.

I dont have an exact date but a buddy that works for Verizon went to a workshop this morning and was able to play with the Bionic. 4.3" screen, and everything else seems to be on point with the rumors. He said he wasnt given a date but he said really really soon, he also said that he knows about new phone release dates a few days prior. He said I will be the first one to know when he finds out so I will update if someone hasnt beat me to it.

Great Snivac you now got a ton of people now waiting to hear from you. Just ask him to tell you and tell us. We do not know him or will ever know him. Just spill the beans unless this is another joke people are playing. GEEZ!!!
He also said it is very smooth, transition between apps and other things are quick and flawless. This is all I know to this point. He is quite the phone critic so he wouldnt sugar coat it, so him talking about it in such high regard means something. Lets hope for August 4th, I dont know how much longer my OG Droid can hang on.

I am so ready for this to come out. I have been struggling to keep my OG Droid alive... Power button doesnt work, laggy as hell, random re-boots, I am actually thinking of un-rooting it... Although I dont know if it would solve anything....
4g don't even matter to me,I just want one of the frigging things to come out already!
It isn't even about the 4G to me either. Motorola screwed around on launching this phone so much that I don't even want it anymore. The SGSII having 4G means it is a direct competitor with the Bionic.
So if Motorola released a defective phone, you wouldn't want it. And when they release a non-defective phone, you won't want it.
When it has been pushed back into oblivion multiple times (this phone was shown at CES), that makes me think there is something significantly wrong with it. I have my mind made up that I will purchase it if it releases on August 4th. Otherwise, I will keep my Incredible and wait for something better.

It was redesigned -- or more likely, a different design was brought forward to be released under the Bionic name -- so whatever was wrong with it presumably no longer is.
But I hear ya on the impatience, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone at Motorola lost their job over the long delay which is giving SGS2 a huge opening.
If Bionic came out in Q2 this year even with tegra2 and had reliable firmware, it could have been a big hit for Moto. They blew away that chance. Now it's facing the same timeframe as SGS2 for release.
Tomorrow might be a good day of hope for us to hear about the Bionic. MMI is going to have an open call to talk about earnings so maybe we might hear about the Bionic release date or just about the phone in general. Just throwing that out there for ya

Every blog just steals and reposts' what the other blogs post. Only a few bloggers really have credible sources...clearly this guy does not. So don't read to much in to it.

Of course I wouldn't get offended. And yes I saw the "Droid Life" logo on the picture in the UnWiredView article. I just posted the link as I checked and didn't see where anyone previously had posted it.
I know I enjoy reading anything and everything with regards to an upcoming phone. I also know that you you should take rumors for what they are.... rumors.
I happen to think that many people who visit and read these forums, like reading about the rumors too. Also, with regard to new unreleased phones, if only verified factual information was posted on these forums, there would be very few posts indeed.

I think these BOGO offers mean that nothing of significance will be dropping until 15 days after the offers have ended.
Once again any rumors of this being a global phone? As I take a few business trips to europe and the bahamas each year and not having that on my OG Dinc or OG DX has been wearing down on my work ability
I travel to Europe and the Bahamas as well. Both are soul suckingly expensive with data roaming costs. Calls are not much better either, but at least you can control calls easier.
The Bionic is probably not a world phone.
It is very easy with an Android device to get slammed with hundreds of "how did that happen?!" dollars that VZW will not adjust. In fact, one of the first things VZW mentions when you activate and go to another country is to put the device in air-plane mode, turn off background data and only use when an emergency.
Android data roaming out of country equals sadness.

Like what many have already said, I think Moto screwed the pooch on this phone and release, with it coming out sooo late in the year, and with additional phones like the GSII and maybe a HTC device...they will definitely lose some potential sales because of this/these phones, that they otherwise would've captured if released on time. Still, I will probably pick up the Bionic if there is no news of the SGSII having LTE and nothing solid on a new HTC device release date.

Supposedly by standing on the edge of the dock where I was I was supposedly in international waters and therefore international roaming, it was a 5k phone call and the data was 7K the rest of that bill was the taxes that I got charged by Verizon...big big $$$$$
I'm done waiting for this phone. If the SG2 releases before mid August with Lte, i will pick one up while I wait for the Prime, if not I will stick with my TB until then.
**** this. I seriously considered buying this phone on the 4th. I remember seeing information about this phone back when CES was going on. I was thinking that this would be the next big Droid device and it would be a nice upgrade from my OG Droid. I will wait for the Prime.
Disappointing, to say the least. I think there are tons of people who will take either the Bionic or the SGS2... whichever comes out first. I am one of them. If the SGS2 comes out before the Bionic that is going to cost Motorola a lot of customers.
