So I just bought a 4000mAh battery off of amazon for my bionic, I have calibrated it and everything and can only seem to get about 12 hours with 4G and everything on. I used to get about 10 with the standard battery. Does anyone have any tips to improve it? Because I was expecting about 20-24 or more hours from it.
What brand did you purchase? I see Hyperion and Trexcell for 4000mah on Amazon. I personally wouldn't bother with anything other than OEM stuff when it comes to batteries, although I realize they don't make official batteries that large. You can read some of the product reviews and see people saying they're only getting 12 hours out of it or even less than they got with their regular battery, even when following the conditioning instructions.
While the official Moto extended battery is only 2750mah, 2750mah that actually works is still better than 4000mah from some off brand.

Always use the Motorola batteries, charger, and cable designated especially for the Bionic. They have a uniform high quality. Some occasionally fail but not at the failure rate of the third-party equipment.
Simone Verizon stores were selling a "universal charger" and a number of people ran into problems with it with their Bionic batteries. Stay away from it also.
I bought the OEM Extended Battery, Best way to Go! I'm getting close to 24 Hours on Low to Moderate Use, Heavy Usage I'll get anywhere between 12-16 Hours. Depending of 4g or Wifi, But nonetheless I used to have Juice down to 50 percent in maybe 3 Hours on 4g, With 3 Hours I'll probably still have 80 Percent Left. I've read to gain it's full potential let it drain out then charge back again. That's what I did I have great results. I used to carry my phone charger but with the Extended Battery I'm confident I don't need it. Unless I go hours at a time youtubing etc.

What i am wondering is weather or not Task Killer is really saving me any battery time by killing unwanted aps from running that only relaunch at regular intervals and then having Task Killer stop them again. Does this cycle of various apps relaunching burn any more battery than having them run continuously?

If you search the forums you will find several diatribes against automated task killers. Personally I believe they do more harm than good, for the very reason you stated. However, I do occasionally use an on-demand task killer for when an app is misbehaving or just absolutely does not need to be running (I use the one built into GO Launcher Ex).

Periodic task killers can shorten battery charge. Resetting when you have a problem is one possible good use for a task killer.
You can do the killing with Task Manager.
What I do instead of killing tasks to clean things up is a reset/poser on ... hold down volume up/volume down/power until a menu appears and then disappears.

mine takes a long time to charge, more battery = longer charging time. seems like the first time i charged it, it took 4+ hours to charge all the way up.

It won't hurt anything to do that but I don't know whether or not it will help. I've never been able to get mine down to 0. (I'm older and I can't stay awake that long)

Make sure your using the Moto wall charger and usb cord that came with the phone.
I just bought an extended battery from VZW 2 weeks ago. Everything was fine until my phone dropped on the ground. No damage to the case or phone, but the battery is dead. Is this possible? The phone was black & cold, It will not charge off the wire & in the carport & media dock it boots up, but the battery shows 0% charged no matter how long it charges for. I swapped it with out with the original battery & everything is fine. How does a battery break? No phycial damage that I can see.
The exact same thing happened to my son. His Bionic was knocked out of his case on the bus. No damage except the extended battery. Went to VZW exchanged the battery and is all good again.

Thanks.... So I am not crazy..... Breakable batteries... what's next, dissolving screen protectors.
I exchanged my broken extended battery for a new one @ VZW, yesterday. No questions asked.... It just took about 1 hour for the CSR to figure out VZW's billing/order system. So far, so good. I'll try not to drop it again, maybe rigged an airbags system for my phone's battery.
