Default Bionic won't unlock & says (No Serivce) ...help!

This afternoon my Bionic all of a sudden has a Swipe left to right unlock bar. Also it says (No Service) at the top.

Swiping is not recognized to unlock...nothing happens.

I tried a battery pull and also did the "hold the volume up & down while powering off" to reboot.

Any help would be appreciated!

Try battery pull, then put the battery in (or just shut-off the phone), power it on by holding the power button and down on the volume. Go to recovery with the down volume key and press the up volume key to select it. Wipe data and factory reset.

This maybe the only way, unless you happen to have a backup of an old ROM.

Sounds like a hardware problem with the screen. If it is, try a factory data reset. If it is still there, take it to Verizon.

A side note ... I HATE the swipe action. I use ... No Lock ... and leave it unlocked most of the time. It has a widget you can put on the screen and lock/unlock with a click.

Try fixing the no service by pulling the sim card. Maybe that'll fix your bionic too. Then if that doesn't work either, I would do a factory reset. Sorry.

... good point ... make sure Sim card and SD-Ext card are both squarely and firmly seated.

Thanks everyone! Tried all those.

Went to Verizon and store tech with phone tech tried everything.

Ended up agreeing to a factory reset. Luckily I have backups.

Not all Google apps show up after signing in...curious.

Thanks again!

On App Section ...

Select Menu | Manage Apps
Select All
Select Google Play Store (the name sux)
Select Clear Data
Select OK

Now load Play Store and enter the obvious responses.

Are all your store acquired apps listed?

If not at least you have the latest version of App Store installed.

Thanks, I just tried that. Not seeing anything new. I have been loading as many as I could remember that weren't on the list (many were) and some weren't.

You should be able to go to https://play.google.com/apps on a PC browser and just reinstall them all from there... that should list all free and paid apps that you have ever installed that are still in the store. After hitting install, it will ask which device and then, within a minute or two, the install will happen automagically on the phone.

BINGO! Thanks...that shows every app I've ever installed. It will help me double check.

Since I'm rebuilding my phone AGAIN and settings, I can't remember how I changed a button setting on my Bionic.

I had it so that if I press the top (power) button, it will hang up a phone call. I can't remember how it did it before. Maybe I used Tasker...not sure LOL.

Any help appreciated
