don't unzip it, you need to put the whole zipped file on your sd card. The phone will unzip it when it goes to install.

Yes! Eclaire was better than gb. Gb was atrocious! From inner core to outer screen

Who designed the color and layout for gb anywho? Punch that guy in the mouth

Default No going back...

So, let me get this straight. If I flash any ICS version .235 or above, i am "stuck in ICS forever, ..."

What does that mean for when Verizon releases the official ICS update - will I still get that one if I do the .244, for instance?

Also, will my phone update past what Verizon releases if I go forward with the .244 leak?

1. No you can't go back stock gingerbread from .235 or higher because of a higher security version .
2. If your on anything other than .905 you will not get the OTA pushed to your phone nor will you be able to flash another Motorola ROM without going back to .905 or fooling your phone into thinking it has .905.
3. if you flash .244 and it turns out to be the OTA then your good to go, if it isn't then you will be off the upgrade path with NO WAY to go back to .905
4. you can still go forward from .244 if it turns out not to be the OTA for now by using House Of Bionic but you need to read everything very carefully and understand the steps and the risks. Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

I appreciate your insight and advice. I will do some intensive research into updating past the 232 leak.

It may be a moot point, however, as I am seriously considering moving away from this phone at my next upgrade date.

I wonder if, after this "planned" ICS push (which seems like merely a half-hearted gesture to appease Bionic owners), they plan to maintain support for the Bionic. I kind of wish they'd just decide to cancel the update, and give us the hundred bucks instead.

Thanks again.

There is talk that we will also get JB on our phones as well.

as of now, 6.7.246 is now the latest, and I'm betting that this will not be the final either.

I'm betting it won't be 6.7.244 or 6.7.246 either.

Thumbs up

I had an unrooted, stock .905 and followed the directions to download .232. I actually just downloaded it on my phone and moved it to my sd-ext via Root Explorer. It installed without issue. I've only had it on my phone for about an hour now and I'm still trying to get used to a few things. I need to play with it some more, but my batt is low now so I'm charging.

Thanks for the simple and clear instructions. For a non-techie like myself, it was pretty painless.

For those unrooted who flashed .232, what do you find you like most about ICS as opposed to GB?

If your getting a failed download of the
. 232 file install astro file manager. My mother's phone would not download it until I installed astro then no problem. That is the only difference I found from mine to hers. Hope it helps:-)

Does 232 have the face recognition unlock using the camera?

I got tired of waiting for the OTA and installed the .232 leak last night. It's fun to have a "new" phone to play with again. I'm still exploring ICS, but one improvement is that the Facebook app now works over 4G. Thanks for all of the tips and links!

That's a good point. I should probably take it down from the House of Bionic as well and just leave 247 support up there. All the 232 users have a choice to make now. Fxz back to 905 and take the ota or use the HoB to move up to 247. Either is valid.

Because it's not needed now that the official update is coming. We're sure it's going to be 247 at this point.

I understand that. But, we don't just rely on soak emails for information. That's all I can say about that.

So the latest info I have on the soak is that the confirmation emails are going out to people this weekend who filled out the survey and the soak will happen NEXT weekend with OTA the following week.

The .232 leak that was hosted in this thread hit 1,425 downloads! Though I'm sure it was downloaded by some of the same people multiple times, that's just crazy!
That said it's time has passed. With the soak and ota close at hand it just doesn't make sense for people go to .232 now.
It's time for everyone to start considering if they want to FXZ back to .905 or go to .247 or ?? with (hopefully) no data loss via SamuriHL's House of Bionic. The only reason I say hopefully is because when flashing a ROM there is always a slight chance for data loss, even if taking the OTA from .905 though it shouldn't happen.
I'd be glad to post the link to the official HoB thread in the OP if Sam says it's okay, otherwise you should just Google "house of bionic" and read everything twice if your interested in going that rout.

As noted in another thread ... the last OTA was 5.9.905 ... the e-mails went out and the soak test started four weeks later ... the OTA (as memory serves me) then went out six days later.

The soak confirmation emails are supposed to go out this weekend. The soak will start next friday (10/19) with the OTA to start the following week. That's the latest info I have.

Has anyone ever seen a scenario where the soak version was NOT the same version as the last leak?

In other words how sure are we that the soak and OTA release will be .247 assuming everything goes well with the soak?

4. you can still go forward from .244 if it turns out not to be the OTA for now by using House Of Bionic but you need to read everything very carefully and understand the steps and the risks. Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss
Sorry to not grasp this concept (semi-techie here)...running build 6.7.2-233_DBN_M4-3. Was a part of the soak test but did not receive the push (because of this of course...) so you're all saying I need to roll back to .905 then I should just wait for the official ICS release? Or have I just shot myself in the foot all the way around? (link to instructions?)

I hope you mean 2233, Its kind of important
You should be able to get yourself to back to .905 here as long as your on 232 or lower http://androidforums.com/bionic-all-things-root/480176-how-flash-5-9-902-5-9-905-rsdlite.html or use SamuriHL's House Of Bionic - DroidRzr.com to upgrade from any version to .246
