Default Home screen refreshing?

I've noticed in ICS my home screen trends too refresh a lot. It goes blank and the icons and widgets pop back up.

Anyone else have this annoying new problem?

Did you do a Factory Data Reset after upgrading to ICS?

Did it twice, I've had problems with widgets as well. Not sure what's going on, seems like this phone is falling apart on me

If it was me, and no one could find a solution I would just grab a copy of .246 and reflash the phone. If that didn't work, and the phone was not under warranty I would run a different rom.

No warranty, I'm just tired of re-installing or setting back up widgets. If I reboot the phone it runs fine for a few days, but then the memory lag comes back.

The widgets in question, are those apps installed on the phone or on internal storage?
I have always found that apps with widgets on the home screen tend to act up when they are not running from the phone.

Double check you settings in Settings-Developer Options and make sure you don't have "Don't keep activities" checked, it will cause the launcher to restart every time you exit an app, causing the behavior you describe.

Did you try just toggling the screen off and then on?

I've noticed glitches now and again where it would not recognize a key press or there would be a little flickering of the screen and simply turning the screen off and then on reset it.

It happens both when turning back on the screen, as well as coming out of any app or the apps menu. Icons, widgets, everything has to be redrawn. Sometimes I'll turn the screen off and wait because nothing is redrawn for a few seconds. It's like something is hogging the memory, but I checked running apps and there's still 8-25mb of ram free.

I would think you should be sitting at more like 250300mb free!?! Seems like something's hogging all your memory.

~810mb being used. I'm downloading SystemPanelLite to see if there's something the system/apps/running won't show me.

This. If you have 8-25 MB RAM free, that's why your home needs to redraw - whenever it goes to the background, it needs to close the launcher for whatever is using that RAM.

I'm just not seeing a list of things that would add up to 810mb of ram, maybe 100mb at most in the apps running screen. Any ideas of another method?
