Default help with clearing email outbox

I am using JB and the stock email for my RoadRunner email account.
Today, I tried to reply to an email (on 4G) that had a bad address, and that email ended up in the Outbox folder, where it keeps trying to send itself and draining my battery.
I cannot find a way to delete this message. I've tried everything, including cache cleaning. It is a POP account, and using my laptop to find the offending message won't work.
I've tried long-holding the message, but there is no delete message" option anywhere that I can find.
Anyone know a fix? Is there a backend way to get to that file?

Even if the address is not valid it should leave the Outbox. You could delete the account and then set it back up.

That is a thought. I'll do that when that triangle "trouble" notification icon drives me over the edge, LOL. Thanks.
