Default Pre-Order

Is anyone going to pre-order the Maxx (mini or ultra)? I really don't think there's going to be a shortage of these on the market. I really want to have a hands on experience with it. I was so excited to pre-order my Dinc and Gnex the day they were announced and got them on release day. I even took off a day of work to try and get the Gnex a day early. Didn't happen

Anyway, I'm intrigued by the Maxx and it's battery life, but the processor speed and usability really is giving me pause.

I am going to wait till they are released and have a hands on look at them. I also want to see what development is going to be like.

i'm not going to order one either. i didn't order a gnex, just walked in on release day and got one. but, as to your concern, my guess is that as far as speed and useability, it'll be better than something like the S4, which is notoriously laggy, which people attribute to the touchwiz ui. the droids will have basically stock android 4.2.2, and with dedicated cores, it will seem extremely fast/smooth/useable. Also at 720p it's got less pixels to push. Now that doesn't mean it'll be that smooth if you load up a really cpu intensive game onto it, which is probably the only thing you would ever care about CPU speed for.

Also, most android phones slow down because of some sort of I/O deterioration of cheap ssd's inside them. Iphone doesn't have these problems since they use higher quality ssd's that degrade much slower. there's no real way of knowing how well the ssd in the droid will hold up. however, it seems that motorola has the best build quality of all androids (kevlar construction, gorilla glass, unibody design). Tech news people have said the S4 feels flimsy in comparison.

I'm an "in the store" type of guy. I had a day one BB Storm. I have a day one Droid Inc, a day one GNex. I will have a day one Droid Maxx. I'm too OCD to pre order. I'd sit looking for the delivery truck all day LOL.
