Oddly, the price has gone up on Amazon (as it did earlier on Wirefly) by $50 to $249 on-contract. Perhaps Verizon was unhappy to see such a large price differential between the Verizon Store and third-party sellers?

Thankfully the price on my earlier order hasn't changed. I'm suddenly very glad that I let my impulses get the best of me last week.

It's actually still possible to get the device for $200 after rebate. If you sign a 2-yr agreement through Verizon at Comcast, then they'll sell you the phone for $299 and give you a $100 Visa gift card. You don't need to be a Comcast or Xfinity customer to qualify.

http://www.comcast.com/wireless.html

If you are an Xfinity customer, you can do even better by electing to receive $10 off your Xfinity bill every month for 12 months instead of the $100 gift card. That will come out to a total of $120. So you'll effectively be buying the phone for $180.

I did this today. Maxx scheduled to ship 9/5 for delivery 9/9. Visa gift card will take 8-10 weeks for delivery.

Me too. Canceled my Amazon order. At this rate, the $100 card will show up before phones ordered via 3rd parties.

Do you think they will still send you the visa even if you aren't a Comcast customer? In the fine print it makes it sound like you need to be one.

I wish I had seen that comcast thing but I broke down and went to the Verizon store and got my Maxx today. So far so good as far as the phone is concerned, just a few hours in so far.

do you happen to have any verizon link where this promo code comes from? or that mentions it in any way?

Man, I really wish there was some way for me to use some of these promo codes or get these deals. I am on a corporate plan and we purchase our own phones through a custom corporate web site. There is never any chance to put a promo code or anything in. I just can't afford the $300 + tax right now but I need a new phone bad.

As long as you use the link in this thread or call the phone number listed through the link (like I did), you will get the visa card whether you are a Comcast customer or not.

I'm assuming that the Verizon30 code is not going to work for the Maxx? There is no place to put a coupon code online for the Maxx right now and I tried the code on the Ultra and it did not work, so would it be safe to say that tomorrow once the phone is able to ship and a coupon code is able to be "used" that the code will not work for the Maxx as well?

I put an order in through Comcast with the $100 gift card offer late last night (Tuesday), and I just got an email this afternoon (Wednesday) telling me that it's shipping. The tracking number indicates that it will be here on Friday.

I can also confirm that several Comcast agents told me that I would still receive the $100 gift card even though I'm not a Comcast or Xfinity customer.

Just cancelled my wirefly order and went through Comcast. Everything looks legit, so hopefully get the phone early next week. It said the $100 gift card would arrive around 30 days after activation.

Quote from Comcast after submitting order:
"Once your order has been processed you can expect to receive your $100 Visa® Prepaid Card from XFINITY® in the mail within 30 days of service activation."

Is it possible to order through the Comcast site for their $100 gift card, get the phone, take it to a VZW store to activate and turn in an old Motorola for the $100 trade in deal?

i'm trying to figure out if you can do both.

I bought a broken Admiral on eBay for $7 and took it to Verizon and exchanged it for a $100 gift card. Net gain $93. My $299 Maxx is now $203. Cha Ching!

Did you do that after buying your Maxx? I got mine in the mail yesterday. Can I still go to a VZW store today and trade in an old device for the gift card even though my Maxx is already activated?

Do you mind if I ask why you're sticking with Amazon over Comcast? Comcast had my order to me in three days. When the box showed up and Amazon still didn't have a ship date, I went ahead and canceled the Amazon order.
That said, I did pay about $40 more through Comcast because they charged me sales tax and Amazon did not.

1) Like you said sales tax.
2) Don't want to wait for/ use a gift card.
3) I've dealt with both Amazon and Comcast customer service. (need I say more)
4) The comcast deal is good till the end of the year, so I still may go that way if I completely lose my patience.

By the way what was your activation fee through Comcast?
Has anyone ever been able to get Verizon to way this fee?
I'm upgrading 3 phones and that equals $90.00!

Ah, got it. My activation fee was the usual $35 (new line, not an upgrade). They did offer an additional $50 gift card for every line on my family's family plan that I upgraded after adding my line though, if that is interesting to you.

When you try to place a new order, it looks like Amazon has switched from saying that the MAXX is "out of stock" and due in soon, to saying that it is "currently unavailable". In fact you can't put in a new order online anymore.

Those of you who ordered earlier, have any of you received phones yet?

ON the comcast deal. I ordered through the link and was redirected to verizon. I went through with the order thinking that comcast was managing it but after ordering I called comcast to confirm. The girl told me that the card was only available over the phone 888-966-7789. so I just canceled my VZ order and the girl is going to call me back to place the order and get the gift card.

that is not accurate. pretty sure some have already received their gift card made by online orders. she was probably just trying to make a sale for herself.

non the less, my email order confirmation didn't mention the gift card and verizon canceled my order no prob. I reordered over phone and the gift card will be on its way after the 14 day cancellation term is over. Phone call worked. Site didn't work for me. And that is accurate.

I'm thinking of going the Comcast route, but do you know if it's considered buying through a "third party" like Amazon, Best Buy, etc? I was curious if there was any agreement about keeping the service on the phone for 180 days and all that. I want to order the phone on my eligible "dumb phone" line and transfer it to my line so I can keep my unlimited data, but going through the aforementioned third party vendors, I can't do it without getting penalized. I would love to save $100 and do this if I can.

I didn't have to sign or agree with anything like wirefly and amazon wanted me to do. I am going to transfer the phone too to keep my unlimited internet. If you want to wait I'll let you know how it works out.

Got it in today, I'm going to activate it tonight on my wifes line and then switch it over to mine. I'm quite sure that I will keep my unlimited because VZ allows you to switch phones and keep your unlimited. I'll keep you updated. BTW it is ever so slightly larger than the razr maxx hd that I have now and am going to give my wife.

Ok, done. I activated the Maxx on my wifes number just to make sure everything was done correctly. Then I tried to switch phones online but it would not let me, directed me to call VZ. Called this am and rep said that "he" had to switch them because two phones couldn't have same sim card at one time. So he had to deactivate one, move it and then switch. (droid maxx has different type of sim card) All went off without a hitch and I made sure that I still had my unlimited and he said "sure do, no problem" He said that as long as I didn't use my upgrade for my phone I was fine.

I know @creektrails went through Comcast. @Reddog, did you get yours through Comcast as well?

I really want the 32GB, which would require going through MotoMaker (at least as it is today on AT&T), so I am wondering how/if I could do that with the Comcast deal and still get the $100 gc. I guess I will wait and find out.

Anyone know if the Comcast deal is still valid?
I don't see anywhere on the link where it mentions the $100 Visa card...

Amazon is still showing $679 full retail vs Verizon $499. I have an unlimited data plan so I have to pay full price.
