Unhappy Camera Problems

Just started having problems with my camera. When I open the stock camera app I get a very strange colored picture and then I get the camera error message. Anyone else had this problem?

That doesn't sound good. Have you tried to reboot the phone? Press and hold the power button and the volume up buttons at the same time. Hold them in until the phone reboots (~10 seconds).

If that doesn't work, you might try a factory reset. Just be sure to back up everything because it will return the phone to the day you bought it condition.

If that doesn't work, I'd take it back.

Before the Factory Data Reset try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them). If the problem goes away it was caused by an app you added.

To enter Safe Mode ... power off ... when the menu comes up long press on Power off and then respond OK. To exit Safe Mode power off the normal way.

You say "when you open the stock camera app". Since you mention "stock camera app", I wonder if you have any other camera apps installed?

Another idea before a factory data reset is to try to uninstall any other camera apps, restart the phone, and see if that clears the problem.

Yes I did have another camera app, I have uninstalled that plus restarted the phone. Still having the problem. Camera will come on. seems to be finding the right light setting and then the picture turns purple then locks up, then I get the error message. Bad thing is it won't do it every time. Going to try a full reset to see if it was another app. Thanks for the help everyone!
