I really like the form factor and features of the Evo4G. I really wish Verizon would bring out something like this. I like the DroidX but don't like the lack of a front facing camera and the "hump" on the end to house the camera. I really hope that the Droid Pro is a consistent thickness like the iPhone 4 and Evo 4G. Also - a 4" screen seems to be a great size.
But if the Droid Pro has a slide out keyboard I will not buy it. I only want a touch screen.
It is weird though that the slide outs are making a resurgence with the Black Berry Tourch, Droid2 and Epic 4G. It seems that the three latest and greatest phones from Moto, HTC and RIM all have slide outs.
I don't get why you can't have a keyboard and not lose any screen space, but then again I'm not a phone designer person. I mean to me if I can have the large screen and the keyboard doesn't take away from that then I'm cool with a phone having a keyboard.
Device(s): Just about every LTE Verizon phone, and a 4S.

I would rather have a 4" screen tho, so I hope pics come soon so I can decide to wait or not.
i'm almost certain we'll see DXs in stock before the pro drops. if you need a phone that you can use in GSM countries, wait for the pro. if not, it's a toss-up. if you really want a bit of a smaller screen, keep an eye out on the samsung fascinate. that processor screams.

It is amazing how well the X is selling. I like the form factor with the exception of the camera hump on the back. I love the larger screen.
Does anyone remember how early X pictures started to leak ahead of its launch? I am really anxious for pictures of the Pro to leak. I hope it doesn't have moto blur, no keyboard and is flat on the back without the camera hump.

It is odd that Verizon has been completely silent on the Fascinate. I guess they want demand for the Incredible and X to level off before introducing yet another high end smart phone. By the time the Fascinate drops though, the Pro will be right around the corner.

It's not likely anything will blow away the Droid X until the dual core phones are released, and even then the apps and OS would have to be able to take advantage of the technology. I don't see the latter happening this year.
After the first month or two of the DX's launch date I am sure VZW will make the announcement.. Majority of people who will want the Droid Pro will have to play the full price I guess... lol
I am perfectly happy with the DX. So yeah.
World phone? Only place I go out of country is Mexico, and that is for vacation so I don't want it anyways. And FFC, don't need it.
If it has a GSM chip, is it possible that it would be upgradable to LTE?
Insane!!! I think motorola should slow it down a tad.
Seriously?
Before the DROID came out the general consensus was that Motorola should just give up entirely because they hadn't had a hit phone since the RAZR. Then came the DROID, now the DROID X is out and the DROID Pro (may) be coming soon. You'd prefer they just release 1 phone every couple of years and let other companies put out better, cheaper, faster devices?
My wife's uncle spent years researching computers before he got around to buying one. He'd call me every week to talk about the new technology that was available, which was faster, better, etc. Each week I'd offer to go with him to wherever he wanted to go to get the computer, he'd tell me "next week". Finally after 2 years his wife got tired of the nonsense and went out and bought one without telling him.
The technology industry moves ridiculously fast. If you see something you want, go get it and enjoy it. Don't wait for the next big thing to come along, because there's always something better "coming soon".
Man it looks like I'm the only one hoping this phone comes out with a keyboard. Me personally I have yet to own a touch screen cell phone and anytime I would play with them I had trouble texting so a keyboard is a must for me everything else can be touchscreen
This is why I paid full retail. If it has a FF camera and is a world phone I'm ditching the DX.
Why are you so worried about a ffc? I mean you wont be able to take advantage of it look at the iphone you can only use it on wifi and the only reason the EVO can is because of 4g. Once LTE is out then thats a different story.
Verizon is taking off... first the new Droid Line... now all these Damn Droids invading planet earth.. and now yesterday on "Attack of the Show" on G4 channel.. its been sort of offical that Iphone is coming to Verizon.. they are starting the process of making CDMA Iphones to come.... lol... and i am a hardcore ANTI-STEVE-JOBS soooo lets have the Android eat those apples alive! =)
The iphone has supposedly been coming for years personally they can stick with at&t me personally would not buy one i really like android and am anti-jobs so that would just clog up all our data with more iphone fanboys
Even when the Droid Pro do comes out, we gotta look at the many factors compared to the Droid X. The LTE network coverage will be really spotty considering it's at its baby stage and the price for 4g just ; I will give it until 2012 and by then we are eligible to upgrade to a smart phone more advanced than the Pro. Also the price for 4g The battery on the phone when 4g is activated, will drain much faster than 3g (Look at EVO). The processing speed is only .3 ghz faster; not much of a notable difference. Slide Keyboard? We bought the Droid X 4.3'' screen for a reason.

Who said the pro would even be lte compatible??? It will be running 3g not lte
What they all need to do is make drastic techno logic breakthroughs when it comes to the battery tech we use in this day and age. The Battery levels in these phones are pathetic and are easily the weakest part of these devices.

Well the X battery lasts pretty long(and yes i know i had one) and isnt the super amoled screen supposed to help battery life? So i wouldnt say they arent working on this. But really what do you expect if you use it constantly its not going to last days that just isnt being realistic if you think it should last that long.
The Motorola DROID PRO is one of seven Android phones announced by Motorola at CTIA 2010. It features a candybar design with a fully-exposed QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.2, and 8 GB of onboard storage. It also has a 3.1 inch HVGA display, a 1.GHz pro... Read More
