Default gingerbread update text entry

I often double tap the space bar to insert a period (.) after a sentance when sending an email or text. Now when i do it it inputs a random word. I sent a email to a client the other day that read "we will know a bit more as soon as the lender calls me back pajamas".

does anyone know how i can change this back?
