Well that's a bummer. Here's hoping there's a large difference in specs between Atrix3 and Droid Razr HD Maxx .
My guess is that there will be a difference in specs - the Atrix 3' model number is in the 800's - usually reserved for midrange phones. The Razr HD is in the 900's, which usually signifies a top-tier phone.
Though no one knows for sure....I would be happy with the Atrix 3 with the 3300 battery on VZW though...I guess we'll see though.
This phone is giving me that Bionic vibe. Remember waiting for that one then it finally came out and the Razr launched a month later?
The difference is that the Bionic was actually shown off as completed months and months before it was finally released. This phone has never been shown or even really discussed by Moto.

So true. The 'Bionic' that was shown at CES in January of 2011 was nothing like the 'Bionic' that was released (finally) in September 2011. That poor phone was doomed from the get-go. Didn't it get sent back to development after CES? Too bad...I thought it had a cool name. I had my eyes on it before the Thunderbolt, but to the OP's point...delay after delay. I actually returned my first TBolt as a result of the rumored May 2011 release of Bionic. Then VZW announced they were killing unlimited data plans in July so I bought a second TBolt since Bionic was still delayed.
When I think about it...all VZW has done over the past year is take stuff away from me and refuse to give me equal customer service treatment. I swear I don't know why I'm still with them. I need my head examined.
Looks like the Atrix3 has the smaller battery from the RAZR and not the Maxx...
...
...
...
Are they SERIOUSLY going to do this again? Waiting a month to release yet another version with the larger battery, completely screwing everyone who just bought an Atrix3?
Isn't the Atrix3 an AT&T phone? Or is it coming to Verizon also.

I unsubscribed from the SIII Pre-Release thread - I'm waiting for the Moto. Waiting isn't something I do very well. Still not impressed with Samsung's Build Quality.
Hope everyone getting their SIII's really like them.
There is a thread here for the Maxx HD, although you will find listed as the Motorola Fighter. (Which is what it was known as way back when.) Moby Dick was a minnow then, I think.

No, it is an At&t phone. It was rumored for a bit that the Atrix HD (3) was going to be the same phone as the Razr HD though.
That's what I thought, but then when I saw that post I thought maybe I missed something.
And yes I remember when it was rumored that the atrix3 and the Maxx HD might have been the same. But maybe they will have a similar look. Here's a pic of the Atrix3.
I just got notification that my S3 shipped. I'd like to sell it right away (and continue using my Droid X with the black marks on the screen) and wait for the Maxx HD, but there's still no sign or leak of a release date. Very frustrating.
Most of AT&T phone releases are on a Sunday except the iPhone and for now the S3. Going on past history a Thursday release (July 26th) doesn't look good but maybe a press release
I seriously think that if we don't hear any sort of news at all before Tuesday, I'm just going to go to VZW and buy an S3....please give us something!
If you're that antsy - get the SIII. I can't see us hearing anything until like the end of July - so that the SIII early adapters will be outside their 14 day window.

Most of the bloggers are speculating that it hasn't been announced because of the SG3 launch. Personally, I'm still hoping it has to do with Jelly Bean.
Three new Motorola RAZR HD series smartphone has been revealed, they are Motorola XT926, XT925 and XT923. It is learned that the new Motorola RAZR HD series is Motorola RAZR MAXX’s update version, which will be quipped with a 4.6-inch 720p HD touchscreen, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a Adreno 225 GPU, a 13-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, 1GB of RAM and supports 4G LTE, HDMI and micro-USB ports, WiFi, Bluetooth and run the Android 4.0 OS.
So are these the phones then?

Looks like it went through wifi certification the other day.
The other day? That says March 30th? Do you happen to know how long after this kind of certification a product is intended to launch?
I've had the Galaxy Nexus since opening day and to be honest the battery life is what gets me into situations when I'm out and about. After reading your review I think that the Razr HD (or whatever it's gonna be called) will be the perfect fit phone for me. Not a fan of the static buttons at the bottom anymore ever since I got ICS so it will fit the bill perfectly.
Everyone is looking at the new Samsung and after this one......I think I'm good. lol
I step away for a few hours and...bam! OTD breathes new life up in here...which is kind of ironic, don't you think?
Thanks for the goodies. I almost don't even care about VZW updating their Galaxy Nexuses to Jellybean. I got too hyped up only to be let down with the 4.04 update. THIS is what has me spending too much time on AF.
How much of a time lag is there usually between wifi cert and release?
It's entirely up to the carrier and their business plan. They could rush it to market or sit on their butts until they "see" a window that in their mind maximizes sales (like after the S3 comes out and return options expire). Or until Jelly Bean can be installed and used as the latest greatest sales tool.
Thanks OTD for all the new data.

LOL I didn't even notice the date on the certification sheet. I was just going off of the articles I as reading. Nice catch.

Kind of random. Wifi and bluetooth certification usually only confirms that a phone is more or less finished and being tested. With Verizon you know that there are going to be a lot of testing before the phone comes out though. News is usually a good sign. Once new information starts popping up on a frequent basis you can start to expect something.

Well, it says that VZW gets the 926. And it's two months old, from a blog I don't really know, so I don't know if we should pay attention to it. But yes, FWIW. And "Vanquish"?

As far as the GS3 and the bootloader....root and custom recoveries is almost guaranteed. Custom kernels is the real hurdle.
I still might pick a GS3 up if I hear good news about reception. Verdict seems to still be out on that one....didnt see the thread in the GS3 section here...lol. I was gonna pick up the Inc 4G...until I heard the screen was almost exactly like the Rezound. That all but killed it for me. I still might tho. I want my family plan to be diverse.

The reports are that GS3 screen is not that bright. Former Droid X users are saying their X screen was brighter and the Maxx has a brighter screen than the X. I think the Maxx HD will have a much brighter screen than the S3. Of course, brightness and resolution are two different things.
My S3 arrives today. I may or may not activate it. I still haven't decided.
I'm really at pains with deciding what to do. My S3 arrives tomorrow and I'll have to decide whether or not to open it and risk not liking it, or keeping it boxed up to maintain maximum resale value. I just discovered yesterday that the S3 doesn't have an HDMI port... my fault for not researching enough I suppose. =/
The Maxx HD sounds like a dream right now, and I don't know if I'll be able to hold out long enough to wait for at least some solid evidence of it even EXISTING.

I haven't looked into it, but it probably has MHL instead of a mini-HDMI connection. Moto and a few others use HDMI, but most use MHL. This allows the micro-usb post to serve as charging port audio/video connection.
My S3s are here. It will probably be at least a week before I decide. For now, they're staying sealed until I can glean more data from the S3 threads.
If you decide you don't want them, you may just try and sell them. I have a feeling there is going to be a huge alternative market for Verizon phones with the grandfathered unlimited users.
I can't decide if I want to buy the Razr HD at full price to keep Unlimited or use the discount and get on a shared plan. Currently I don't come close to using 2 GB of Data but maybe that is because I have a SLOW Droid X. I hate 3G and buffering. I have WIFI at home and WIFI at work but at work it doesn't help that most sights are blocked through the company security. What to do? What to do?... Seems like i have plenty of time to decide since MOTO is taking so long to release this phone.

See, this I don't understand. I'm as concerned as anyone else who needs it to be a reliable phone about the signal quality, but how are you going to know if it works for you if you leaved them sealed and read what someone else has to say about it? Unless you live in my house, work with me, travel to the same cities I do, and hang out at the same places I do, your experience with the phone doesn't mean much of anything to me. Test it out, that's the only way to know for sure. #justmy2cents

It has passed the fcc a long time ago also as you can see in the spy photos with the blurred fcc numbers. According to someone that works at Motorola, its sporting the s4 and since it's sporting that processor, along with a lot of other phones and have a shortage, it won't release til about August

The Motorola DROID RAZR HD comes with one of the thinnest profiles among Android devices, just like its predecessor. The upgraded RAZR features the same size, but Moto has managed to increase the display size to 4.7 inches by extending the screen f... Read More
