I ALMOST picked up a S3 today but had the will power to not get it. I have a 4S right now and I want a new 4G phone badly but with the new iPhone about to get announced and the Razr Maxx HD about to come out its hard to justify.

They will all, more than likely, be great phones. I think you did the smart thing though. Now, you can see them all together and pick which one is best for you.

I almost did the same thing. I have a Galaxy Nexus and was going to buy the GS3 this weekend until the new RAZR's were announced. I've never been a big fan of Moto but the MAXX HD caught my eye. One thing I hate about my Nexus is the horrible signal strength. I know Moto doesn't skimp on there radios so that will be a nice change.
Tough thing waiting eh?
My father waited for the latest and greatest computer hardware for two years because something new/better is ALWAYS coming.
Where is my dam Razr HD??

Ugh I wish motorola would give us a release date on the razr hd/maxx. I want this phone so badly now that my contract is up. At this point the only thing that would make me happier than a release date would be an announcement for a droid razr nexus hd loll.
I'm not really feeling Lg for the next nexus device based on their history and I've had 2 samsung devices and I'm ready to come back to motorola
Device(s): GN2, Razr HD, Nexus 7, Asus OG Transformer
Carrier: Not Provided

I think they are probably shooting for October but with Verizon's unmatched record for testing their phones I'm going to guess they go to early November, same time frame as last year's Razr.
And to respond to the article, I don't think Verizon gives a rat's @ss about when the phone is released in another country. They will release it when they are good and ready, and IMO that's usually at least a month or two late.

I don't know, I'm thinking the sooner the better. With all the new phones coming out in Q4 it seems to me that they (Motorola) would want to jump in asap to get those early holiday sales, especially before the release of a new device like the galaxy nexus 2... or whatever its going to be called

What is the competition for waiting:
1) HTC 5"
2) Iphone
3) Note 2
????
You really think they'll delay the Maxx a little after the backlash they had last time?
Well, the last time they screwed EVERYBODY over by not even letting people know until two months after the fact. I recall Moto after the conference mentioning to a media person the HD may release a little ahead of the Maxx.
If both same time, my guess is last week of October for both.
Hmm. November seems a bit late. We might even have info on the next Nexus phone by then, it'll kill off a lot of hype for the RHD.
The reason PhoneArena says November release (this is my opinion) is because the leak says the Maxx HD will be released in the middle of Q4. Technically that's November. But I'm suggesting an October release, although it could be late October. I just think Motorola and Verizon would want to capitalize on Holiday sales. Which as we all know has been starting earlier and earlier every year. People start thinking about Christmas gifts well before Thanksgiving. (i.e. late October)
This could all be wishfull thinking on my part as I've been eligible for an upgrade since March of this year, and I'd like the Maxx HD released sooner rather than later.

True, I guess if it's released in October then it will be forgotten by the time Christmas sales start ramping up. I'm probably just a little annoyed because I want the phone earlier than that.
However, if the new LG Optimus ends up becoming the next Nexus phone, I might have to bide my time till it's release. Thats the only thing that can turn me away from the Razr at this point. And rumors are starting to run wild with no actual announcements. It's about time.

If it is released in October, the only reason it would be forgotten by Christmas would be if Verizon allows it to be. If the Razr Maxx HD turns out to be one of Verizons top phones, they should be running tv ads touting all its features and power to generate Christmas sales.
Do people really buy phones for gifts? You have to use their upgrade to get the special price, and I doubt many would pay retail to give to someone. I don't get the wait until holidays idea to release it. Look at how many bought the S3 and Iphone5s.

I'd imagine when kids want to upgrade their phones and the Holidays are nearing, parents would probably upgrade the phone and wrap it up. Or even if they open it up, it's still a sale within the holiday season.

I remember we bought our daughter her first phone and gave it to her as a Christmas gift.

I've actually done this a few times and had it done for me as well. My Christmas present last year was a Galaxy Nexus and I bought my parents Galaxy S2s as their Christmas present. I doubt me girlfriend would ever upgrade if it wasn't a gift.
The Motorola DROID RAZR HD comes with one of the thinnest profiles among Android devices, just like its predecessor. The upgraded RAZR features the same size, but Moto has managed to increase the display size to 4.7 inches by extending the screen f... Read More
