I will be getting this phone on the 29th of December, I was wondering if the community could give me any tips, suggestions, or warnings about the device. Any comment will be appreciated!
So far, it is a great phone for me. I'm coming from a Motorola Electrify and a Samsung GSIII (USCC...now Verizon.) The only fault of the MAXX HD might be the camera. (The GSIII probably wins that category.) But everything about the MAXX is fantastic, including a battery that just does not quit. I'm very happy to have a Moto back in my hands.

I just bought this phone 2 weeks ago and have been extremely happy with it. My only complaint is the camera. Coming from the Galaxy Nexus the camera on this phone is horrible, my 2+ year old HTC Droid Incredible takes better pictures than the camera on the HD. The only time this camera isn't bad is if your outside with sun light. Inside pictures, or any setting with a dark or dim lit room the picture is extremely grainy no matter what setting you use on the phone. There is a roumor that the Jelly Bean update will help the camera but i'm not holding my breath.
With that being said, the form factor, build quality, and battery make this the best phone i've ever owned. My biggest complaint about the Nexus was even with the extended battery I had to find a charger by 5pm. With the Maxx at 5pm if my phone is under 70% i'm surprised. In the 2 weeks owing this phone I have yet to get it under 50% before I put it on the charger at night. You don't have to turn off 4G, GPS, or sync, you can leave them all on and have it sync as often as you want, you can have live wallpaper and as many widgets as you want, it doesn't matter the battery handles it. After owning this phone I can't see myself ever going back to a standard battery.

I have to agree with the pros and cons. The camera quality isn't a deal breaker for me because I don't use it all that much. The camera in dark areas reminds me of old VGA webcams with the grain and noise. The pros of the phone, especially battery life, completely overshadow the negatives. The signal, call quality, and speakerphone are all excellent. Motorola Blur is kept to a minimum.

The camera certainly isn't a deal breaker, the pros out weight the cons and so far the only con I found is the camera and even that when it comes down to it isn't that bad. Its a cell phone camera, its for taking candid pictures on the fly.
I concur with everything said above. It's a great phone. The camera takes great photos if you have good lighting. If the lighting is low the pictures are not that great, but most cell phone cameras suffer from this. It's all about the battery with the RAZR HD Maxx!

I agree with what everyone said here. This is great phone overall except camera is mediocre. My Gnex got quite better on auto focus and sharpness with JB update. Hope JB update improves it on RHD too.
Also know that it has on-screen buttons which is getting love or hate. There is quick setting page on the far left home screen. Initially I liked this feature but soon I felt it's cumbersome when in the middle of home screens. Installing Nova (or Apex) launcher, Widgetsoid toggle app took care of that for me.

If Verizon tells you your upgrade is on 12/29, you can usually upgrade a week early (and cheaper) at AmazonWireless: Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, and Accessories. You can also upgrade early at Best Buy and they'll price match Amazon Wireless that way you don't have to wait for shipping .
I saw that two, and just had a huge grin on my face.
Then I noticed this was before the DNA and Note II....but I think the Maxx HD would still top the list.
I just placed my order for a Maxx HD on Amazon Wireless (it was quite a bit cheaper than Verizonwireless or Costco but was not a painless process and I couldn't use the Amazon gift card I had - but that's another story).
Anyway, I had spent all day researching all these phones including the DNA and Note II, but apart from the camera issue everything else seemed to fall short of the Maxx HD. Of course, none of them matched the battery life, but I was quite surprised that some of them even lacked basic features such as removable storage. It also seems that people are complaining about certain apps not working properly on the DNA, I think it was. I haven't seen those types of complaints on this forum so far (my current phone is a Motorola Droid X and I've never had a problem running any apps).
