Will be using wifi and data just stops working. Greyed out all of a sudden.

Constantly have to reboot. Sometimes that doesn't even work.

I have wifi always on because of home and work.

Thoughts?

The only thing I can think is - unfortunately - that there's an issue with your WiFi radio. Hopefully you're still under warranty and can get it repaired.

it is possible verizon is tweaking the tower that you are connecting to. or it could in fact be the radios.

Verizon told me to remove the network from my phone (forget network) and then reboot router and reconnect. Said I was connected to the router but not receiving data.

I would agree with whoever told you that. grey means you're connected to wifi, but there's no IP address assigned to you.

I had a massive problem with that when connected to my N network. I kicked it to G and no more problems. only tradeoff is the speed (perceived for the most part) and the wifi signal strength.

btw, there is 100% nothing verizon can do to impact your wifi radio. well, other than approve a software update that does something. there are no settings on the verizon side to give you more or less wifi service.
