Default WCDMA and 3G reception on Razr M

How well is the 3G reception on the Razr M (how does it stack up to other phones on the market)? And, does WCDMA help with 3G reception?

I'm coming off a 2.5 year old Palm Pre Plus and looking to purchase new phone this Fall or Winter. I live in a 3G only area, but work in 4G. Honestly, 4G speed doesn't matter to me. I'm more concerned with quality reception than speed. Additional background.. I don't pay for internet. I strictly use the phone's mobile hotspot for my home PC.
