Default "file too large" for email attach?

New to smart phone and recently picked up a Razr M on Verizon. I have a 5.5MB video file that I've tried to send via email but cannot - I get the error message above. Right now I'm just using the default email app that came with the phone (Moto?). Is the problem likely to be in the email app, or is it a VZW issue? Seems like 5.5MB is a pretty small file size limit...

Thanks a lot.

This is more than likely a limit set by your email provider. While in todays terms 5.5 MB is fairly small it still may be to large for the email servers.

For large files, I would upload it to dropbox, google drive or a different one and send a link to the person you want to email it to. Provided that is an option to use.

Argedion had it right. I checked with VZW and the size limit for email attachments is a paltry 3.5MB. Pretty lame...
