Default How do I customize my text messaging display preferences?

Is there anyway to customize my text messaging sent and received message colors and styles on the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX? I have looked everywhere I can think of on the pre installed text messaging settings and just can't seem to figure it out. I thought I'd ask here before I downloaded a different messaging app that I am able to customize.

I've never used the stock text app. Go SMS was one of the first apps I installed after I powered up my phone.

Go SMS Pro is the stuff. some of the recent updates killed the doodle, which is my favorite part, i am running version 4.21 with no issues and the doodles still work.

The stock texting one isn't very good but if you download Verizon Messages, it allows for alot of customization.
