From this thread http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-razr/500453-motorola-razr-ics-timing-update.html
linking this chart https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c,
Assuming you have the GSM Global version of the Razr (as opposed to the Verizon CDMA/LTE version in the US), Motorola expects to release the update sometime in the next few months (Q2).

The OP is in Norway, so he probably doesn't have the Verizon version.

Just read an article about where we are going on the Moto/Google updates for the coming year. Interesting reading.

The first paragraph in the article says

"The Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Motorola Droid Razr Smartphone could arrive as early as next month or as late as April."

The article was written on March 20th, so 'as early as next month' is April - or it could be here 'as late as April'.
Nice. Another article where you have wonder who does the proof-reading.

That aside, it would be nice to believe that it will be here next month, but I'm old and jaded, I'll believe it when I see it on my phone.

Not to sound rude or bust anybody's bubble, but I think the article was written on January 24, 2012. Today is March 20th and I think that site post today's date at the top. So that is probably the reason for why it is quoted as early as next month or late April.

Ah, that is the site date rather than the post date, which is the way that I read it. That makes more sense from a syntax point of view.
And makes the info even less believable.
I'm still firmly in the 'believe it when I see it' camp. Looking forward to it, but not holding my breath...

(Although yeah, I'll be shocked if we get it next month).

Default Lame . . . .

That we bought a phone with the promise of ICS only to have it 6 months later and still no update.

Love the motorola hardware and love this phone as much as my original Droid but there is argument for buying untouched pure google devices like the nexi

(Even though the Samsung hardware feels like plastic.)

I'm starting to see reports of a soak test coming. If so, it all makes sense--recall the 2.3.6 soak test was essentially on top of the 2.3.6 release.

I had a feeling it was on it's way, and Moto was just keeping mum on it. Hopefully this is all accurate, and the soak test goes off without a hitch. I'm ready for some sweet, creamy goodness.

Verizon's Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX to get Android 4.0 on April 4th, Rezound to follow on the 6th (updated)

By Darren Murph posted Mar 30th 2012 at 6:28PM

Color us surprised to find that Best Buy is so deeply entwined with carrier / OEM plans that it would actually receive a notification that Ice Cream Sandwich is coming to select handsets, but we guess it makes sense to notify those hard-working BB Mobile representatives to what's coming down the pike. Both Android Police and TechnoBuffalo have received separate leaks confirming the news, suggesting that April 4th will be the day that the Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX get a taste of Android 4.0, and that April 6th will bring the update to HTC's Rezound. Hard to say how the rollout will be staged, but if you're considering one of Verizon's fastest and finest, at least you know when ICS is coming.

Update: Judging from our tip jar, a fair number of you have received emails from Motorola about joining "an early preview of a new software" for the Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx. Coincidence? We think not.

[Thanks, Jason]
