Default Voice input question

I was looking at this site...

DROID RAZR - Thinnest 4G LTE Android Smartphone - Motorola Mobility LLC. USA

...and it said that the Razr shows text while you dictate. Mine doesn't do that. In fact, the voice input on mine is somewhat sketchy. Am I missing something or need to download something to fix?

I have found using "voice input" you must speak slowly and clearly. If you have a strong accent, it will make voice recognition difficult.

Does voice actions recognize the 'nickname' field within a contact? I'd like to use that and not have to say the entire contact name.
