Default Droid X vs iPhone 4 Video recording comparison

BGR has a video comparison up. The Droid X has much better contrast both indoor and outdoor. The iphone has horrible bloom in highlights outdoors Which crushes all detail. I would even go as far to say that the iPhone video is really bad. Not surpisingly, he declares iPhone the winner because it is 30fps and not 24fps. Personally I couldn't see the difference between the two speeds.

I think it is hard to see with video shaking all over the world but iphone video seems to be slightly better.
I just hope android phones start coming up with better lenses vs stupid high megapixel BS.

Can you see how washed out the iPhone looks outdoors? Look at the leaves in videos. The iPhone crushes the detail completely. You can't even see the stones on walkway on the iphone. They just look like a blob of light.

Flip back and forth from the beginning to end of the indoor video. The difference is contrast is dramatic.

The iPhone definitely wins in indoor conditions. Outdoor conditions though... WOW, the iPhone video looked so washed out vs. the Droid X and also the Droid X has superior audio quality.

I will not read any review that compares to an iPhone (which is like 90% of them). Why is it they must always bring up the comparison to iPhone.

You would think Steve Jobs sends a check to everyone of them.

I think they compare everything to the iphone because it is the most popular phone in at least in the United States for the time being. So of course they are going to compare the newer Android phones to it. I kind of like it, I see the iphone and yes it does have some nice new features, but then I see the Droid X and it blows the iphone 4 out of the water in my eyes.

The one thing I noticed is the fact that the sound is just amazing compared to the iPhone. The guy's voice was crystal clear on the Droid X and on the iPhone 4, it was quiet and soft.

I can't wait for this phone!!

haha, yeah thats all i have been noticing too. the iphone bias is beyond ******ed. before the iphone came out, everyone was looking for vibrant crisp pictures. Now that the iphone just puts out those washed up pictures, eveyone and their mom no longer want crisp vibrant images.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa. there is another video that tests the speed of the evo, iphone 4 and droid x. LOL, mind you that the evo and X have less bars, yet the iphone has 5 bars.....o.O. they run the test, and the guy with the iphone cheats on top of testing in a low signal area for verizon and sprint..

haha it really has to be seen to be believed.

I don't exactly understand why he put that up if it was meant to be nothing. I think just for the attention. If you go to the Skatter Tech website and look at the actual post, he explicitly states that it is NOT a scientific test, which it clearly isn't.

It was also on 3G, not Wifi, which can greatly fluctuate the performance. It was also on a website that has Flash components, so the EVO and X would have to load those also. Last, but not least, he's comparing the brand new iOS4 to 2.1, which is over a half a year old. 2.2 will bring a big difference in performance.

If you look at the comments in the post, they all realize the problems with the video, so I'm sure the poster knows why the video is basically "useless".

Also.... this:

Go to 7:45 and watch the EVO beat the iPhone 4 in all areas of the speed test. A HUGE contrast to the previous video. If the Droid X is slated to be faster than the EVO, then well... you get the point.
