Does anybody know why i cant set a pic ive taken on my phone as my wallpaper? Whenever i set one as my wallpaper it is huge, almost like its super zoomed in. You can only see a portion of the pic. What might i be doing wrong?

When you pick the image it will let you crop it. Move the square selection to the upper left corner of the image, then drag the lower right to the opposite corner. Now slick Save.

This can't be official without the *** in the title.
That being said, I like where this thread is going. I have the lego storm troopers wallpaper right now but I can't seem to find where I downloaded it from at the moment.

Then I'm completely wrong and forgot to factor in the rest of the screens! Hahaha. I remember reading that number in the Incredible wallpaper thread and thinking the same thing and having it explained to me then too! Thanks!
I resize wallpapers to 960x854 but when i set it was wallpaper, it only lets me select/crop about 80% of it. what am I doing wrong? can someone recommend a program to resize it (non-photoshop/free)? thanks!
As much as I love wallpapers, I don't think the OP intended for this thread to become an "unofficial Droid X backgrounds" thread. Feel free to post additional wallpapers over in the "Theme" section.
For a second I debated not sharing this and cutting down on the number of people with unique wallpaper, but then remembered there are millions of images out there to choose from .
In the market there's program called '[dodol] Custom Wallpaper Maker' which allows you to set any image as wallpaper.
Just go online and find a wide screen picture (1920X 1080 etc), save it and then use the program to apply. You can even use non wide screen images but you'll need to crop them.
The only downside is that for some reason the program reconfigures itself to be the only way to apply wallpaper. Which imo shouldn't be enough of a reason to dissuade you from purchase.
hey guys I need some help... I saved all these images to my computer and transfered them to my droid, but I'm having trouble saving them as wallpaper. Any ideas?

I believe the files have to be in .jpg format (unfortunately all of the ones I made are in the .png format).
I just created a sub-folder in the dcmi directory labeled "Wallpapers" and saved all the background images to this folder.

Ok, this may be a stupid question but how do you get these wallpapers on your Droid X?
I just visit this thread on my Droid X...then long press on the picture to save them.

Treo 700P, iPhone, iPhone 3G, LG Dare, iPhone 3GS, Droid, Droid X, iPhone 4, Nexus, iPhone 4S, S3/iPhone 5/Razr Maxx Hd????
This is kind of a dumb question but how do you make the whole wallpaper fit the screen? I've cropped it so that it uses the whole image, but I think because these images are in the 960x854 resolution it ends up spreading across all 7 homescreens.
I want the wallpaper to fit one screen so that it's stationary when I'm scrolling from one homescreen to the next (kind of like the original wallpapers). Right now, the wallpaper is set so that only some of the image is showing on the homescreen and when I scroll to other screens, you get to see the rest of the picture.
I hope this isn't confusing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I tried resizing it in Paint (lol) but then the aspect ratio gets messed with.
I resized some OS X wallpapers to work on the Droid X. Is it sacrilegious? Couldn't pass up a terminator reference.
i like the this one

Reason: removed excess pictures from quote
I made this in 10 min using Adobe Photoshop. I tried blending the Mac OS wallpaper with some Droid counterparts. The Resolution on the original is 854x480, this is scaled down from tinypic.com
A much more simple approach I made for thye Droid X

Lots of nice stuff here, but any chance folks could stop quoting posts with a ton of pics? Or at least remove the pics before posting the quote? Or just thank the person? Thanks in advance!

I FIGURED IT OUT!!! SORRY!!
Ok newbie here.
I have these files on my droid, I have them in the download folder. They are both jpg files. I can click on the files to view them, or press and hold my finger over them to see some options, but I don't see any options to set as my wallpaper.

I have figured it out. For some reason they were not showing up in my media, but now they are. Once they are there it was easy to get them as wallpaper. I guess I just had to be patient for a few min.
