Thumbs down I have beef with you Verizon.

There is NO communication with this Droid X promotion going on.

I have posted previously about having 5 refurb Moto Droids, then I had to fight for a early 1 year upgrade for that line because you kept sending me replacement garbage. Finally you guys give me an annual on the line and I get a Droid X at 1 year pricing. (Yay.)

A week later after I got my early 1 year for a Droid X... what do I receive in the mail.

A pamphlet for a 2 year Droid X agreement... (Right after I got my 1 year?!?) They must have sent out this pamphlet the day I got my annual.

Really? Is there ANY logic to this?

NOTE: Verizon did honor the two year and scraped away the 1 year pricing, but still. Wasted my time above and beyond.

I got an e-mail on 7-10 telling me that i was elligible to upgrade to the droid x early for the promotional price, 7-15 comes and I call to order it like the e-mail says. The rep over the phone tells me that I received no such e-mail and I could not upgrade, go to the store and they tell me the same. three days later they send me a text telling me the same thing as the e-mail, call back and they let me upgrade. The only thing this circus show is missing is the tents and the elephants.

Agreed. I couldn't even believe it.

First they were going to make me refuse shipment and order another X to get the 2 year pricing. I was astonished... Just unbelievable. Then of course you ask for a Supervisor and they tell you you dont have to do that. But still... I really hope I don't have to call back for a century.

When I asked to speak to a surpervisor the woman on the phone told me she didn't have one... I was like really...you're the in that building all by yourself and I can't talk to anyone else, lol. And yet verizon's customer service is supposedly top notch. We just must have gotten the red headed step children of the company working on our orders.

Something, I mean seriously... that or they enjoy acting like they have the IQ of dirt.

I'm just waiting for something else redic to pop up on a bill or my mail. Lol. I'm sure it will... with Verizon's track record now.

Yeah, they pulled some shit with me too.

Told me they'd put the cost of the X on my bill rather than charge my card directly. Three days later, I get a notice from my bank that they had actually put it on my bill, and that, since this put me in the negative, I was to receive overdraft fees for all of the charges I had on hold (which was like, 7 charges totally a total of 30 dollars or something). Thus, I got 7 overdraft fees totaling 260 dollars.

Called my bank, they filed a Dispute of Purchase claim. Verizon calls me the next day apologizing, refunds my account, but refuses to admit fault. Luckily I know the guy at the local branch for my bank, and he helped me out with the fees so that I didn't have to pay them, so no harm was "technically" done. But you can imagine my face when I looked at my bank account online and saw a 300 dollar purchase AND 260 dollars in overdraft fees when I thought I was merely gonna see the X on my next bill.

Similar thing happened. If i have less than 200 dollars in my account, I don't ever use my debit card(to avoid over drafts)

I ordered a droid x launch day to in store to be delivered Friday

I went to exchange the original motorola droid on launch day
for the Droid X

the man told me that since i paid with debit, it would go back to my card so i said okay cool

so 263 goes back to the card(so i think)

I asked how long does it take for the money to go back and he said it goes back instantly. I said okay cool

Now in my head my account should be at 563 now with the 263

I told him the remaining costs for the difference and shipping i wanted to apply to the bill...so i swipe and i am told the remainder goes on my bill

So i think i am back down to 300 now and i go to pick up some stuff for my dorm room

Well apparently, the money never went back to my card and my account is now negative -340 some dolllars

After cussing both managers and the rep out(it's my fault because i wasn't clear according to the manager EVEN THOUGH the rep said that she did say it and that he screwed up and misinformed me), i now have the next 4 months free of service as well as I can easily upgrade to any phone that i choose be it a fascinate or whatever

Very nice. (: You must have gotten a nicer set of employees than I did. They kept apologizing for the situation, but never for any inconveniences. They were very careful about not accepting blame. I just wanted to be back to normal, so I took it. Lol

Lol, I'd say take a trip out towards my neck of the woods, but I couldn't recommend somebody take a trip to Michigan with a clear conscience. Hah

I agree. All the topics are just repeats, and some (like this) are just personal anecdotes. Regardless, things should be moved to messages at a certain point just so that people don't get in the habit of being off-topic in all threads. : P

To the OP poster, I can explain the situation and its not as disjointed as it seems.

Your early upgrade to the Droid X was done through customer care/tech support for device issues. The upgrade offer came from the marketing department and is one of many promotions they do over time. Those customer care does not communicate with marketing on items like your upgrade, etc. There are some people who get these early upgrades who have upgraded recently as well.

As far as the mailer or text messages go, do not call care to inquire about it. Care can look them up, but many times they do not. Call the number on the mailer or in the text. The store can honor those offers too, but they may be reluctant to at first.

Hope this clears it up.

I'm having a Verizon beef of my own. I ordered two Incredibles on 7/10. On 7/15, after my ship date change three times, I canceled both orders and switched to the X. That was an ordeal in itself. The INC order on my second line showed canceled, but wouldn't allow me to purchase new equipment on it. I had to go through CS and order it on my third line. I received both of the X's, but that second INC was still showing pending on my account.

I called numerous times and was assured that the order was canceled. Then I got shipping notification. It came, and I refused the delivery. It's on it's way back, but the slowest possible way, and in the meantime, is still on my bill, which is due very soon.

In addition to that, I called to get a replacement X for my earpiece issue on Friday and was told it would go out Monday, to call then for tracking info. I called, was on the phone for roughly 30 minutes to be told I would be waiting on a back-ordered X. That's all fine and dandy since I want a NEW replacement since the phone is brand new. But in the meantime, the replacement (that is not in my hands) is ALSO on my bill.

The bill due date is fast approaching and I have FOUR (not cheap) phones on it, when I only actually have two. If it's not sorted out soon, they're going to have an angry customer come billing time.
