If you could have any other phone besides your X what would you choose and why? I'm going to to have the opportunity to upgrade here in a few months and I am just trying to get a little feedback from my well respected forum people
The Droid Bionic for it's 4G capability and dual core processor.
Now that's based on battery life, 4G stability, and the assumption that apps will be updated to have the ability to be multi-threaded to make use of the dual core.
There is nothing out there today that would make me move from the DroidX. I even live in a 4g area, but none of the 4g phones currently are worth the cost of upgrading. The only benefit over the DroidX that those phones have is the 4g radio, and some phones like the Thunderbolt are worse than the DroidX.
I too am waiting on the Droid Bionic to see how it stacks up. 4g, dual core, big screen, etc all look good on paper. If the device actually meets expectations then I would probably upgrade to it. But battery life is going to be a big issue with all those features.

Right now none, but I am also watching the Bionic and seeing how it is developed. I really think Moto missed the boat with the DX2, if they would have added a 4G radio and a front facing camera to it I think you would see a lot more people looking to upgrade to it.
My son has an upgrade in 2 weeks and I told him it could be his birthday present and he is looking at getting the X, he likes the X2 but is worried about the development on it, there is not much happening. I have my upgrade at the end of July and this is the first time I have not already picked out my phone and counting the days. It is hard to believe that the X has been out for almost a full year and is still one of the best (if not the best) phones on the market for all it does.

Galaxy s2 but it's not out yet for verizon. Just looks like an all around amazing phone, of course it has to be 4g or it is not much better than the droid x 2. Overall though droid x is still awesome, we got gingerbread and lots of good custom roms. And hopefully a stable cyanogen mod coming, still one of the best phones you can get thanks to the software boost.
im pretty much agreeing with everything that has been said so far, the 4g phones that are out right now just seem lackluster to me. thunderbolt has bad battery life, i havent heard anything just amazing about the charge, and the revolution just didnt blow me away spec wise either. any speculative release date on the bionic?
Mr. WOZNIAK: I used to carry a white iPhone and a black iPhone and I would ask people what color iPhone do you think I have. And I would always make them right. I prefer to make them right than wrong. And then I'd show them I have both. And they'd say why do you have two, and I would say well, when the battery runs out in the one, I've got the other. I don't have the battery problem and I can multitask. I can hold one up to my ear and look something up on the other one.
... I also have a Droid X, android phone which is a big screen. There's a lot of things I like about that phone and about the android system but not as much as the iPhones. It's not as beautiful.

I want it all, 4g, dual or quad, q display, 4", etc, but if the battery will not make the day, the DX will be in my hand for awhile to come. With GB, its much better, but still glitchy: links to ph# will not populate dialer, weak speaker phone, and signal drops to 1x often.

Another Droid X! I love this phone. Once in a blue moon it has an issue, but it's rare. Good battery, really nice phone, HDMI out, good storage, excellent nav capabilites, I just dig it. The only thing I wish was that I could still tether it to my hacked Nook Color. I use that feature once in a blue moon so it isn't worth the $20 a month extra now that Verizon blocked it.
Other than that, at this moment, a Bionic would be my next Droid. Or I might wait for a quad core...
At this point I'm very happy with my X. I don't think that I will upgrade any time soon. That said I've had my X since the DAY it was released and have had my 1yr contract up for sometime, but nothing, I mean NOTHING, has yet to catch my eye and say: "Get Me!", yet.....
Loving my X to much right now to change from it,i may keep it for a while after i'm able to upgrade unless their is something absolutely amazing and if it survives long enough

If your tired of Motorola then I wouldn't suggest going with LG, Samsung or HTC. They are all worse. HTC is pretty good but every Motorola phone I've had wassolid (including the X) it had problems when I got it that I fixed with root, once I got my thunderbolt I took it back to stock and was amazed at how great it ran stock. I never had reboots on the Xunless I overclocked passed 1.4 ghz, on my thunderbolt I get 4 or more a day. GPS was always great on the X, on my thunderbolt its hit or miss (mainly a miss) and Samsungs are known for their terrible gps and reception. The only phones I would consider would be Motorola and HTC, in that order.
i have been wondering about the nexus s2 something about the super amoled screen has got my eye. they just look so good. the bionic specs do look pretty good too though. oooooonly tiiiimme will tell!
sgs2 here, im just now hearing about this nexus prime, which wont be on verizon if moto unlocks the bionic, then i can look to get that as well, since i do have 2 lines

pretty lame about the nexus. i want to see what the bionic screen is going to look like, i think i heard something about some new type of display it was supposed to have
I really like Windows Phone 7, which should have a new batch of phones out this fall with the big update they're going to release. I'm definitely going to give it a look for my next phone, but will probably still with the X for another 6 months or so. Great phone and battery life.

Wow the Droid 3 looks to be a very nice phone, and a unlocked bootloader???? My only personal problems with this are; the screen is smaller than the X, the keyboard will make it bulkier and it is not LTE. Pluses are the keyboard will be nice with a smaller screen, front camera, dual core and mirror HDMI out.
My son has an upgrade in 2 weeks and will be getting an android device, I think he might be going this route.

Search the forums to fix the wifi issue.. for some reason, some phones hibernate the wifi once you turn off the screen. You can fix it by going in the advanced settings in the wifi screens (but I'm not able to look for you right now).

Id wait for the Bionic. Unless he wants a physical keyboard.
I might just jump ship and dump android all together when my update comes around, always some kinda of issue with it at least for me. Would like to give Win phone 7 a try.
