Two years ago on this day I was standing in a short line early in the morning at our local VZW store awaiting the July 15, 2010 debut of this phone. I still use it and it looks like brand new when you take it from its case. Have the same screen protector on it still and finally put a decent scratch in the protector.

I know a few of yall got yours a day or week sooner, but today was the day it became available to all.

If they would only unlock the damn thing now, this phone as lots more to offer.

I remember that day well - I had cancelled my order for an Incredible due to the 1.5 month lead time and was first at the store for their 7 am opening.

Had my DX for over a year now. I upgraded to the Razr back in February, but I'm still using the X as an mp3 player and general media gadget, and it's still going strong. First Moto phone I've ever owned and I still love it. Happy b–day DX.

Mine has a month or two before it's two years old. Still chugging along quite nicely. I recently tried the Go Launcher Power Master and it actually seems to be helping the battery last longer. I always thought those things were just junk but this one seems to work.
I'm really in no hurry to get a new phone.

I feel bad...forgot all about my DX's 2-year birthday yesterday. I was #4 in line at my local VZW store on 7/15/2010. I've moved on to a Razr Maxx and love it, but still using my DX at home on WiFi a bit. Mine still looks brand new as well and I took off the screen protector just a few months after I bought the phone and still no scratches on the Gorilla Glass. I actually prefer the low level screen brightness on the DX over the Razr Maxx. Since ICS, you can hardly see the screen below 20% brightness setting if you're not in a fairly dark room. Other than that minor gripe though, the Razr Maxx and the 3300 mAh battery rocks. Nobody makes better hardware than Moto IMO.

That's what I said a month ago and now I'm rocking the nexus with a 3800 battery.

I sold my DX over Ebay right after I got my Gnex. The nice folks from the epic thread chipped in to buy it for me!

All in all, whereas I was angry at Moto for the encrypted bootloader, I have to say that nothing beats Moto hardware. I must admit I am having fun with kernals and exotic roms (I'm on Jelly Bean, now), but I am hoping for the day that Google puts out a Moto Nexus (open bootloader).

The Dx was a great phone for me. I cut my teeth learning about rooting on it. It was a tank. Solid as a rock. Sometimes when I get fed up with Samsung connectivity, I think of the ol' DX fondly.

Enjoy your DX's. I'm still a Dx'er at heart. You guys know that!

My DX will be hitting it's 2 yr mark in a month or two. I attempted to upgrade to a Nexus last week but after having to return the phone several times, I gave up. I'm sticking with my DX for a while and never buying another Samsung phone again. Their radios are just crap for signal reception. Motorola has never let me down.

I couldn't agree more about Motorola's radios. I went on a camping trip last weekend. I had gone to the same place the year before with my DX and it just barely got reception. This year, with my GNex, I got just about diddly. Moto is golden with radios in my book.

Locally, where I live, Verizon has very good coverage. What I have noticed though is that my GNex takes a few seconds to come out of flight mode or switch from 3G to 4G. My DX never took more than a couple seconds to find the signal.

There are times when radios can only do as much as the network lets them. If you're in the outskirts of the network, a fist full of Motorola radios wrapped in aluminum foil held up on the end of 20 foot steel pole won't make a difference.

The DX is new to me. Have had mine for a few days now. Came from an HTC Hero, so I'm loving the DX's speed and screen. Should last me a year or so, at which point, I'll buy whatever phone you guys are dumping as you come off contract.

i've had my DX for a year and a half and i love it still. i live northeast of richmond, va and we have spotty 4G so the 3G on my X is sufficient. my wife got the SGIII and it is a nice phone but i'm happy with the X. now i'm starting to check out some car docks for it. will that allow me to play my music from the X to the car's radio? how does that work exactly?
