Updated Specs!! i am curious, why does it say qwerty for keyboard? Hmm and Safari as the browser?
Just because it says QWERTY doesn't mean that it will be a physical QWERTY.. I've seen this before on candybar touch phones. The Safari did throw me off at first but I realized it must be something within the name of the WebKit browser, since Safari is also WebKit..

No disrespect taken, . The only information i have is actually having the phone and currently typing this message with it. I have no reason to believe the processor in this phone will be different at launch unless quadrant is giving me the wrong processor. My bets on the 3640
Well I guess Htc came out with the diamond2 and Touch Pro2 one had keyboard and one had a better camera but other than that they were the same so i guess Motorola could be doing the same thing.
If it does have a 4.3" screen I think I am going to pass. I played with an Evo and IMO it is just a touch too big to comfortably hold and navigate one handed. I was hoping for the 4.1". May consider the Samsung Galaxy S again if the screen size on the X is true.

Yeah, after i wrote that i figured they meant like text input on the physical keyboard was qwerty, the 4.3 inch screen is kinda huge though, i was hoping for a 4.1. Ah well, my phones are all dying on me now anyway.....
This phone better be available by July 29th! I'm using a crappy Lg 8100 because I dropped my beloved Eris. Its torture not having my little android to play with!

So its a 3640? Wouldnt that put the proc at 1ghz. Maybe thats why your friend said it was a 1ghz processor? Would also show why it is benchmarking so high?

That could be, but this person said snapdragon but maybe someone told him/her that it was 1Ghz and he/she assumed it was snapdragon. I guess will find out soon enough
There are rumors that around father's day there will be an announcement. I think most, myself included, are hoping release dates will be talked about at that point and hopefully preorder
There is an insider on HoFo that is pretty reliable about stuff like this. bill23 I think is his name. but he always talks in code and riddles. His riddle about this implied that there would be some news about this phone on father's day.
The more i hear about this phone the more i wish it would come to Europe. Anyway you guys on Verizon should consider yourselves lucky ur getting such an awesome phone. This destroys the EVO as far as im concerned.
@ibowtoandroid, do you have anymore info? Release date, i hope i have all the specs correct on the first page....
That's it for now- specs look good to me, man.. Might wanna put in the official name though.. I really don't know a whole lot more than any of you as far as official specs or release date- I just know that database is money, and when they put a phone in it, release is usually less than 2 months away. I'll definitely keep ya posted
I'm just waiting for a android phone to come out with a good camera and scope for android updates.
Droid X seems to be fiitting the bill, a Galaxy S rival with flash :P
Anyone have any idea on Motorola's current camera quality? (IE As a hint hint nudge nudge of the "soon to be released" phone? )
AWESOME! Thanks! I just hope the 4.3" measurement doesn't include the glass part with black plastic under it (aka the part that isn't actually lcd screen). That would be a pretty big fail/let down. That wouldn't be the case, right? *pulls out his gun and sets it on the table* RIGHT?!
Sweet pictures, the best leaked ones so far but they are still saying it has a snapdragon... but it has the 3630(most likely this) or 3640 clocked at 1Ghz at least that's what I'm gathering based off what insiders at howards have been saying.

The only thing I don't like is the space between the bottom of the screen and the buttons...just for the stupid VZW logo!?!?!? Come on! The phone is pretty long to begin with. Was that totally necessary? Really?!??! They could have shortened the phone to have the buttons flush with the screen, and add their logo to the little area UNDER the buttons. That's dead space anyway!
I really dont know where the front-facing camera is supposed to pop up from, the new pics are pretty clear and i did not see anything and i think if it had one Gadget university would have pointed that out, it is a pretty huge advancement to overlook...

I sure there is a reason for this space but I agree, it'd be nice if they did away with that and made the phone a litter shorter.

No front facing camera doesn't bother me, even on the new iphone it's only possible via wifi by the time Verizon's LTE network is up and running then we'll start seeing on their phones maybe even before that but no deal breaker for me.
This is all shaping up to be even better than I had hoped for. Front facing camera would have been neat I guess but that's far from a deal breaker. Am I reading what maddigital said correctly? 1000mhz processor?? I would have been thrilled with the 720 or whatever it was. HUGE bonus there!

4.3 is the LCD corner to corner. The glass is bigger.

whoa. 4.3"? Lot of other people who have had playtime with it have been saying 4.1". Thoughts?
Well regardless of the original 4.1" reports, apparently it is now 4.3" b/c maddigital actually has the Droid X.
@maddigital, if you don't mind to much, could you possibly measure the height and width of the LCD? (Sorry, I should have asked that the first time... I kinda forgot that all companies tend to use their own aspect ratios).
Speaking for all of the grandfathers out there who want to see their grandchildren on the phone calls, I am extremely disappointed with No Front Facing Camera. I am a long time VZ customer and was really looking forward to this phone. They have probably just forced me to leave.

I understand where you're coming from and I'm there with you when it comes to video calling. I think I know why a front facing camera hasn't been included though. In most places I've been, Verizon speed are typically about 1.5Mbps and about .5Mbps up (obviously your experience may vary).
Have you ever tried doing a video chat at speeds like that? I have, and tbh, it's pretty darn crappy... and that is on a hardwired line hooked into my computer. Just think about trying to do that on a smartphone... obviously they aren't as quick on the hardware side as most of today's computers and you also are trying to utilize a connection that isn't as reliable as a hardwired line.
The point is that I believe Verizon knows that allowing video chat over its 3G network will disappoint a lot of people and probably put undue strain on the network. It makes sense to reserve this for the LTE network which will have speeds that will easily handle this.
Take a look at the iPhone 4G. I'm willing to bet that they'll eventually enable video calling over AT&Ts 4G network, but until then, I'll bet they continue to limit it to over Wifi.
No front camera is kind of a bummer, but not a deal breaker. Spec for spec this will be the best Android phone on VZW for some time. Thanks for the answer on that.
How's the external speaker volume and vibration strength?

Yes, I guess you're right. With all of the recent publicity re: front facing cameras, I have probably built it up in my mind to be better quality than it probably will be, at least initially. I just don't want to be in a situation where I get this phone and then for the next 2 years regret that I don't have that feature. I don't want to leave Verizon because both ATT & Sprint are unreliable in my area and i have not had a call dropped by VZ in many years. So I now have to decide whether to get this or continue to wait for the next great phone that has all of the features I want.
BTW, the Motorola CEO said this week that even though he is not a fan of front facing cameras, they will produce 2-4 phones with front facing cameras before the end of the year.
